I think that Autel model is quite interesting. Live data etc.
Pretty much anything will do for the basics DTC codes on off etc.
However when it comes to real scanners they are not cheap. My bud has a $4k Snap on that reads body & transmission codes etc. If I need to use his Snap On it is available to me.
I keep in the Jeep an Autel reader 4 in 1 maxitrip 100. It can do the code reader and display extra gauges etc.
I like to see my FWT or water temp and correct voltage readings etc.

I am sure lots of other members have readers they want to comment on.
I dont need anything fancy but like the small footprint of the Tp-100 display unit.

I have one of those cheap $25 dollar code readers which has served me well so far. Although I've never used one of the nice ones with live data so I don't know what I'm missing.

Funny they say it does all 10 modes but only displays P codes and U codes,it's not a 10 mode scanner. If you want all 10 modes your going to have to spend $4000+.

The manufactures(the one that design and build the vehicles) only have to allow access to 2 modes but have deals with companies like Snap On that will display all the modes. If I remember right mode 2 and mode 6 are the ones required by federal law have to have free access to.

Your better "cheap" code pullers are the CRP 123 and CRP 129 from Ereader,2-4 times what you want to spend but worth it since you can access the SRS system and trans. With the CRP 129 you can access most oil resets, brake resets, and electronic parking brake resets.
