I hadn’t driven my jeep in almost two weeks, but I took it to town on Thursday, last week. It stinks from sitting. I tossed an air freshener in it and called it good. I got the dog out to go for a ride afterwards. She stuck her nose up in there and turned around. Hopefully mice will do the same.

Funny same questions I was just asking on another site, for my other car, looking if anyone has an recommendations on what to use to keep the mice etc at bay while sitting over the winter, I tend to start it, and drive it in short trips. I just figured I would ask, something not to expensive or home remedy to prevent any surprises.

Get an ozone machine. Not a spray bottle, a MACHINE. This is what hotels do when ******** smoke in non-smoking rooms and stink up the joint.
One example... I can't attest to this specific device... https://ebay.us/m/leEjra

Troubleshoot my nonfunctional, brand new,
Blower motor - all tests with key in and on, fan motor set to 4....
Tested the input to the fan, with the switch on, and sweeping through all settings other than Off.. 0 volts.
Checked the main fuse and relay underhood.
Removed and checked for continuity through the fuse. Good to go. Reinstalled.
Swapped the radiator fan and blower motor relays. No change.
Checked all the fuses on the driver's dash end cap, with the lights turned on. One lead to the door check (decent ground), and the other probing the recessed contact on each side of the fuses. All passed.
At this point, it is about 99.8% sure to be the resistor pack. New one arrives Thursday. Frankly I'm a bit pissed the last only lasted 3 months.

If the fan works on mode 4 its the blower motor resister.

which one ddid you buy??

On advice of a member here—I got the BorgWarner RU1040 that fits the 2001-2004 Chrysler Sebring or Dodge Stratus … it is definitely more HD but still fits right in.

Anything brand name is more likely to be made with higher quality parts, but there is no guarantee. But yeah, I try to stick with bran name stuff, such as BWD, etc.

Borg Warner (at least used to) make high quality import parts, so I am hoping that they still do even
On a brighter note, I paid only $9 + $6 s/h for it as a rockauto closeout.

My dad always stuffed dryer sheets all over to keep mice out of stuff. It seems to work with my old Mercury.

Absolutely. A couple companies make them that plug right into the 12v recep. They aren’t as powerful as that unit, but they’re better than nothing.

I agree that Four Seasons generally manufactures good quality AC components…they are actually now a subsidiary of Standard Motor Products, which I have also successfully used for engine sensors, as well as ignition parts, on my other vehicles. In fact, SMP now owns Borg Warner Division as well.

To anyone interested, it looks like rockauto still has the Borg Warner blower motor resistor on a wholesale closeout for $8.88 plus S/H

This is the one that fits a Dodge Stratus and/or Chrysler Sebring but ALSO our Jeep KJ.

Another FYI — ID Parts, who specialize in CRD maintenance and engine parts, is having a fairly good Early Black Friday sale on some good ones.

I got a pair of high carbon rotors and ceramic pads for Giddyup's front axle all for $112 delivered.

They also have a full CRD filter kit (oil, fuel and air) for $35 plus delivery (but also with free shipping on orders over $95) They use UFI filters which are OEM filter manufacturers for the CRD.

And a complete CRD timing belt kit for $248 !!

Got questions…call Josh at ID Parts …he's my brother in law and knows everything
(JK on the brother in law part!!! LOL )

Spare tire mounting plates to be replaced when they finally arrive. Figured when silver dollar size chunks of rust hit the floor it's time. '07. Took all day to scrub rust ON paint (thank God) off. Shoulda took before cleaning pic. Wax the crap outta the door.

So, I've been lazy. The part arrived 2 or 3 days ago, early. I haven't been bothered to install it, largely due to the weather (unusually cold for this time in SC) and the fact it's a bit difficult to get to that lower bolt. I will grab a small palm ratchet and install it after work.
