Some Meguire's Ultimate protectant works wonders on the bumpstops. :smokin:

You are OCD HJ. Just sayin....

Should I Use the boot on front Bilstien shock or not?
Was over last night @ Ryan's and he said that I should post up this question as some concern over the boot potentially rubbing on spring.
Any idea on this?

Boot on or off? I guess it depends on if you plan to wheel and where you plan to do said wheeling. I did not install the boots on mine. Had on my old ones and when I took them off to replace stuff I found a crap load of dirt under there. I wash everything underneath after a wheeling trip but stuff still stayed up in there. I figured I'd not put the boots on my new shocks so that I could wash the mud n stuff out easily.

In my experience the boot will not contact the spring. It sits quite nicely within the spring.

Happy Valentine's !

Not to be outdone by Tim, the race for Canadian KJ parts is on!

Best Valentine's Day ever yesterday three deliveries for huntbuggy!

(Still waiting for my shims, just paid Chip so might be a week or 2 and bushings, isos and hardware still on the way)

A few extras like breather hose extensions, diff parts, flexible antenna and other surprises :)

Unwrapping the bumper came with a full garage cleanup, had to get table saw, tile saw, toolboxes and bikes out of the way to make room to work.

As you say in BC - I'm stoked! :smokin:

Wow Mitch that is great! Someone Loves You!
Where did you get the antennax idea from eh?
By the way the Arb looks like it has a dent, and it should be returned.
I will send you my address ok...

Some guy from BC mentioned AntennaX... :icon_cool: hehe

Maybe I'll ship him the ARB when I'm "done" with it... ?

Feels like a lot of sweat and tears coming soon to a garage near me...

How comes your lift?

(Lol with this crap camera will not even try to compete with your always complete and captioned - and polished - photos)

And I'm impatiently waiting for my ARB lockers and compressor...

If he shipped it with Day & Ross freight instead of postal/UPS give them a call when it hits your local depot. It'll get on a local truck faster if you "remind" them.

So have you got the real estate all planned out under hood for your compressor?

Bilstiens where a TERRIBLE decision I have 2 sets that are broken. the upper stud for the front is welded to the shaft and Breaks off fairly easy. Trust me on the fact that taking out a live spring from a Liberty is SCARY. There are only 2 choices Really for the Front Rancho or OME.

Wow. Will watch out for that.

Did you return all four to Bilstein under warranty? They cover breakage such as that under normal conditions, yes?

Nice job! And looks like nicer weather in BC than here to enjoy it!

I actually like the look with your stocker wheels and tires and it's convinced me to run mine awhile until hunting season perhaps. Glad to hear it rides smoothly - I don't think I can stand much more of my old suspension with all these potholes! :favorites68:

Just got another 25 cms of snow and now freezing rain. At least temperatures are up for next week so lift begins. Been putzing around with the diff cover, fluid changes and been PB Blasting everthing every few days.

Can't wait... congrats on your lift!

Can't wait to see Tim's compared to our KJ this Saturday.
Can't wait to drive it and see how it feels compared to our Frankenlift with Rancho shocks.
I'll be easy with Tim and lead him straight into the really fun stuff!
I want to really try out my wnich!

Ya last time Ryan went right to the fun stuff, Jen got out of the Jeep for her safety, and Ryan ended up shaking loose a few more gal stones.
I think I better bring fresh underwear, and ask Ryan to have the power washer ready.
It is really raining here and tri-angle road is real nasty mud right now....

Both Jeeps Compared

I am one inch taller in the Rear compared to Ryan ( he had stuff in back)
Ryan still has 1.5 inch more clearance between tire and fender well FRONT. Also has taller 75 series tires.
Mine still does not sit level in front even with Boiler's 3/8 shims. That is really noticable in photo Ryan really sits up nice & proud there..I got some tuning to do!
What is needed that Ryan has done....
-Al's 4.5 A-Arms (get a real alignment)
-Clevis lift time ( like 4 conduits) each side
Note my new 927 front spring have already lost half an inch.
Should have gone with CRD springs and it would be recommended for anyone which has any weight up front like winch or push bar/skids etc.
Just a tougher spring that can support more weight with probably less sag.
So in a few months after the 4.5 and fine tuning on clevis is done, we will do another side by side shot, and see if I can get the front up nice & proud !

Again WITHOUT at the very least an ARB up front ( extra 95-100 lbs) CRD 790s will ride really rough. Would not do it. 4 conduit nuts is pushing it if you're going off road any at all and stretching the suspension out. It can be done but have to watch it. Trust me I have tried it.

Thanks for that info Tom.
One other problem I have it seems is that the drivers side front spring has compressed more than the passenger side front.
I am not level on the front ....yeiks.
The drivers side if I remember is half an inch lower than the pass. side.
Plus both springs lost half an inch.
Anyways it is a choice of 4 conduits for driver's side and 3 for passenger side.
or 5 and four.
I assume that half inch of conduit spacing is = to one inch of physical lift.

Man I could use two more inches in the front. Any more room on the shock tower bolts to double up another boiler steel 3/8 spacer?

3/8 inches of conduit nuts give you 3/4 inch of lift
measure 50 KJs and more than likely 90% will be lower on the drivers side
just from my own observations
I sit my own up with more lift on the drivers side
again would not do more than 4 nuts per side
bolts are not long enough to install two plates, plus you'll run into more problems
Wheel with what you have an extra 1/2 inch or so gains you nothing but bragging rights sitting at the mall

Our's sat lower before the lift and still is slightly lower on the (Continental) drivers side!
I'm about to add ⅜" top plates to get back the ¾" I lost during the springs settling.
Oh, and longer S/S Braided brake hoses. (CV Joints already machined down.)
