Hi everyone!!
I’m from Mexico, maybe some of you have seen one of my YouTube videos (Mi Jeep es una Dragona)
I’ve had RC old 3” lift kit (the one with aluminum spacers), Bilstein shocks and JBA UCAs from around 3 years ago and finally in August of this year decided to take RC apart and get a pair of expensive OME 927
Well, as I’m in Mexico the only way to get this stuff is importing it from USA, the OMEs cost me $262 shipped to Laredo and after customs and Mexican taxes, I payed around $340
I was very happy, so as soon as I got the springs, I installed them into my Jeep, the final size from bottom border fender flare to the center of the wheel was 21”
That was a bit disappointing, but said “well, at least runs a lot better than before, it’s softer and more comfortable”
Also, bought a couple of clevis from KK (haven’t installed yet) and some conduit nuts to use them as an spacer to achieve at least 22” (I’m running Cooper STT Pro 31”)
But the worse has yet to come!!! Because today, less than 2 months since I installed OME 927, the springs have sagged and now I only have 1” of lift (total size 20”)
My tires are rubbing in each bump, or when I turn the steering to any side.
I’m really upset with this trash of OME, because I spent a lot of money, while I just could have bought a new set of RC 3” lift kit (the KK fits the KJ) as the one I’ve installed to a customer two weeks ago. His Jeep is taller than mine, and the front shocks with struts are around the same cost as OME 927
As I’m in Mexico, it’s impossible to me claim warranty or something like that because the shipping costs to USA maybe will be as much as the parts.
Tomorrow I will try to install my old RC aluminum spacers or at least the KK clevis and the conduit nuts.
Any ideas are appreciated.
