Before the mountain run yesterday, with a fresh tune up including coil packs TPS, IAC etc....
I removed all unnecessary cargo.
Basic tools, not the 150 lbs I normally carry as well.
I don't know how much the 60lb roof basket may play into this but, it was off too.
At this spectacular truck weigh scale, I pulled in with 1/4 tank & was surprised to see weight this low, with full skids etc. I'm 250lb as well.

MPG overall 16.5 mpg, in serious mountain climb territory! Was 15 previously.
Have you ever weighed your KJ?

Somewhere between being sane and insane!
Weighed with full armor/tools/fuel when IFS and sat at 5500lbs,after SFA swap without any tools/spare/jack I was a little over 6000lbs so fully loaded I'm pushing 6200lbs+ before I get in.

last run to MOAB I averaged 18.5mpg's SFA'd and beyond loaded, from Colorado to MOAB is far from a flat drive also.

Wonder if my GVWR still is actually rated at 5600lbs?

last time I got weighed I came in at 10,060#. of course I had a loaded car trailer and all my crap for the track as well. :D

also i'm sure they switched over fuel blends again... my mileage has tankered since october. mind you i don't drive the jeep a lot since i'm still trying to wear out the Shadow. (damn k-cars... you can't kill them even if you try!)

If you have 3/4 ton axles, wouldn't you increase the towing capacity? Technically you'd have the stopping power and drive train strength as a 3/4 ton. I could see you being able to tow more weight safely.

Loaded for the trail with me, a passenger, and full tank of gas my rig weighs just over 4800lbs.
