Been kicking around the idea of getting some sliders for the KJ. Interested in the JCR ones- might be dead by the time RL would get them to me and don't know much about Boulder bars. I have a few questions...
1. Do they all bolt to that pinchseam thing? (plus the "frame" rail of course)
2. Does that increase the chance of the pinchseam rusting?
3. If it does, what can I do so it won't rust? (besides washing...I do that a few times a week in the winter)

I guess I'm just apprehensive about drilling into that...I don't want any rust there due to the rails since I don't have any rust now.

RL is getting parts out a lot faster
only ones I would run.
I had boulder Bars a few years ago for a couple of months, didn't like them
Yes all bolt to the pinch weld, I've had holes drilled in mine for over 8 years with no rust issues
Just keep it clean and painted well

What do you paint the seam with? Just standard rustoleum?

x2 on the rl, i got mine in less than 6 weeks, i just dont plan on using the sheet metal screws for the plastic rocker panel cover. as far as painting goes i would (and will be when i install mine) clean the bare metal from drilling free of any dirt/grime/oils, then prime with sem self etching primer, then either sem or por chasis black cote (not por 15for rusted surfaces), then sem undercoat or stoneguard, this is what i've used in the past and its been proven in many upstate new york winters (lots of salt, sand, and slush)

fyi sem is expensive stuff but more than worth it.

Good choice! Having some rails on the KJ definitely takes the pucker factor down a notch or two, HJ. I felt a lot more at ease at Windrock having the rails there - and during Saturday morning's run they paid for themselves when I came down ******* the left side when I slipped off a rock.

You'll be glad you have them!

I was kinda worried about not having any...on the "big one" I was a bit concerned. Still made it without injury, with the great spotting but like you said if you slip it can get interesting. :D
