Marlon, just about any new HU will give you this option. Since i have kenwood, I can gladly recommend the newer Kenwood HUs with better button layout, more options, and USB, HD Radio, AUX, CD Changer, Sirius/XM input capabilities.

Check out my topic somewhere in Electronics "choosing a stereo".

x2 on Kenwood.

Why headphone style input? You wanna not be able to skip songs or albums while driving? You won't be able to do that with iPod via AUX...
You need USB or iPod Direct connect. Otherwise, go get cassette player!!!

Get something that both offers AUX and USB or iPod controller.

Yeah, I forgot about that. A friend of mine has an Alpine with the ipod adapter thing and he can change songs or do whatever without touching the ipod. Isn't that about the way your Kenwood does? Sony has one with both the usb and aux input on the faceplate, but I wasn't a fan of the way the Sony that I had sounded so I probably wouldn't recommend Sony.

Yes, My kenwood has USB.
So I hook up 30GB hard drive full of mp3s. So I can skip mp3s (songs) or folders (albums). It also has option of adding iPod controller with a different cable.

the 3900 is probably easier to use, the aux input is on the faceplate instead of on the rear and you don't have to flip the faceplate down to insert/eject a cd like the 4900. also, check out this kenwood, it's the same price with about the same features I think.

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-2SHGC696Yqa/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=300&I=113MP2035

My only issue with my wife's 3900 is that the volume knob is awkward to use because of the buttons next to it. when you try to change the volume, it's hard not to bump one of those buttons next to the volume knob. other than that, it works and sounds good in her accord. i haven't had a kenwood in years, but i think I'm leaning toward the one above because it might look a little better.

congratulations! you can't beat the deal you get from crutchfield, and it shouldn't take more than 2-3 days to get it. As for the Alpine thing, so far I like mine...the sound quality is really good, but I'm thinking about getting a Kenwood (something like the one I posted a link to above), simply because it has a little more power....and I just kinda want something different. I just can't leave well enough alone.:D

WTF.. just WTF, Marlon.. So quick?!!?

I spent like two months before I decided on my Kenwood..
That looks good, but got no USB. I would never live without my hard drive. I think that one's got it optional. Did you check how much ?

I know what he's talking about, but no, I am soldering the connections. I'm doing it right the first time so I won't have to do it again. :D

i like the heat shrink tubing method myself, much less messy.
I will probably just surround it with electrical tape. An Update:

cable caps?

crimp caps.
HAPPY? :p

I like them a lot better than heatshrink, solder, and any other options there could be. I did not cut ANYTHING out of my cables, and when It's time to replace, move, or do any kind of changes I can just unscrew the cap and remove the cable. I also can just cut it since I did not shorten anything.

Beleive me, those crimp camps work unbelievably well.
