i just got my hi-lift extreme and i am looking to make the most out of it as humanly possible, which brings me to my main question, for using it as a winch what is the best line to use as far as safety is concerned, snatch strap, recovery strap, or chain? i dont want there to be a risk of the line becoming a lethal projectile, (ex. steel winch cable snaps and whips through the air) i understand there will always be the risk of whatever is attached to the line becoming a projectile, but i want to use something like synthetic winch line wich if it breaks pretty much falls to the ground, i have also been looking at bubba rope, which seems to be a real heavy duty recovery rope. my main concern here is safety.
thanks,
chris

i just got the hi lift a couple weeks ago, i have winched with it yet but i would much rather have the ability to do so and never need it than need it and not have it, i was leaning towards the bubba rope but just wanted to make sure i would be safe using it, funds wont be permitting anything in the next few years, im startin to save up for a house lol, have you heard anything about the bubba rope? it looks like good stuff from what ive seen online. have you ever used a hi lift for winching? if so how did you like it? pros/cons?

How about a good recovery strap? They have loops on them. (no metal hooks)

Tractor Supply sells good ones made in Canada if there is one near you. They have all different widths, lengths, and tow rating straps for everything up to tractor-trailers. You should be able to find a quality strap there.

Bubba rope is good too.

do you guys say that due to the weight of the hi lift or the amount of effort it takes to operate the jack as a come-along?

Both
Also look at reality
You only get 4' of movement max really only 3' if you
are lucky
Better off picking up a cheep come a long that has 10'
of pull
or DON'T WHEEL ALONE

ok, i knew it wasnt the best solution but i figured it would be better to find out this way than spending money on the stuff to use it as a winch and it being completely useless, ill save for a little while longer get the bubba rope, and once i build my bumper i have a buddy who will be selling me his smittybilt XRC8, thanks for all the input guys
