I have an '08 Liberty. I get no heat at all. When I first turn on the heat it's luke warm for about 30 seconds and then cools off to ambient. The blend door is moving when I adjust the temp knob. When I pull the heater hoses off, there's no coolant there. The heater core has coolant in it as evidenced by putting a garden hose on one side and seeing coolant flow out before it turns to clear water. It's not plugged as water flows freely through it with the hose. The temperature gauge sits just to the left of the 12:00 position once the engine has warmed up every time regardless of the outside temperature.

I did replace the under dash module as the door to direct air to the dash vents was broken. But the no heat issue existed prior to that. I'm at a loss here. Anyone else ever run into this situation?

Plugged lines from the water pump or bad wwaterpump itself.

That gage is not the most sensitive device. Aka - it lies sometimes

Flush the heater core. It is super easy to do. There are plenty of videos on YT about how to do it. It made the heat in mine work much better.

Make sure you cooling system is full and not air bound. Check heater hoses for blockage. Flush heater core in both directions and flush coolant. Is the temp setting knob inside the car working correctly ? How's the cabin air filter?

If you flush the heater core go ahead and just order a new one right after cause you’ll need it. If your cooling system is this neglected to get to such a point flushing from the engine will probably be the kiss of death for the core. I agree with the water pump guy but if you don’t know the last time the cooling system has been serviced then that’s just part of the problem. I would pull the heads and timing cover and vacuum as much crap out of the block as possible (there will be a lot), clean everything 50 times new hoses and water pump at minimum, throw in a $80 radiator and $12 thermostat for good measure. This is of course if I was bored and wanted to keep the car. If you do all that and it doesn’t work time to push it off a cliff.
This suggestion is a bit extreme of course
