LIBERTY -03 stuck in maximum heat

Hi everyone. I got myself a Jeep Liberty (in Europe apparently labeled Cherokee) last December.

A couple issues on the mechanical but nothing impossible to solve with a wrench and a sledgehammer.

The more irritating issue is that the heat is stuck at max. The panel works and I'm able control airflow through all vents. Haven't gotten the AC working.
During the winter this wasn't a big problem but spring is coming and it's getting warm.

Found a lot of posts about no heat issues but none about the other way around. My thoughts are that it might be the blend actuator door stuck in wrong position.

Is there any way to access the actuator without ripping out the interior? I was thinking about a bit of redneck ingenuity and cutting a hole in the panel to get access?

The car as such is a dump but reasonably functional for its use in hunting, driving around the farm and so on.

Any ideas?

I’m going for blend door as well. It is a booger to get at, as the whole dash needs loosened up and mostly pulled from the truck. If you need a quick fix, remove the hoses under the hood from the heater core and splice together with a hunk of copper (similar) pipe / tubing for the warm season. Be careful getting the hoses off the core. Those lines from the core are ususaally some sort of plastic. No pulling hard - work em loose gently

I had that problem. Before starting to take things apart, I decided to use a rubber mallet to box under the dash. I park under a big oaks that is always raining down little acorns and one of them made its way to the to the box with the blending door. A couple of slaps with the rubber mallet kicked it loose until I had time to take it apart.
