Has anyone done a front free wheel hub modification?

I looked into free-wheel hub parts for a while.
Ford Explorer wheel-ends have the same bolt pattern, and cheap/easy to acquire around here. But incompatible is just about every other aspect. Would require major machine work, and custom hybrid ujoint/CV axle shafts to make it work.
There may be better options with the Aisin hub setups used on Japanese makes. Many of those used CV half shafts. However, I've only seen them with the larger 5x5.5"or 6x5.5" wheel bolt patterns.
I've ditched the idea myself. Timken wheel bearings last a good long time for how we currently use the Jeep.
For the very small amount of gain in mileage ( if any at all ) or wear on front items it would cost way more than what you would ever get back
