I have an '02 and mine is 35mm. I do read that some KJ's use a 36mm nut.

Either way i have it covered. I have a axle nut kit with 32,33,34,36mm and i bought a 35 because i was pretty sure that was the size. Why they left out 35 makes no sense to me

Ya got me thinking about which socket I have - just checked the tool chest and mine is a 36mm (thought it was a 35.) I've taken my front suspension apart a few times and the 36mm has worked fine.

I think at that size the socket will grab the nut even if it's off by a millimeter.

Well i was planning on replacing the hub tomorrow after i recover from this evenings shananigans. Buuut there is nothing audible coming from the hub anymore. I was driving on the parkway in a nasty storm a few nights ago and hit a puddle at 60 65 mph. Nearly shit my pants btw. And now it makes no noise. Is there any other way to ensure that the hub is indeed bad before i install $120 for no reason
