Watching videos as I work on my car, sometimes for sequences to do things or to have a handy audio reference to torque values or such... I was doing among other things a CV axle replacement, and I have everything mostly assembled, but my CV axles came with new nuts... but I noticed I don't have washers and the video mentions washers under the axle nut.

My LH CV axle was already a replacement from Advance Auto, I was replacing that (under warranty) because the boot failed, I had a RH CV axle sitting around waiting for me to get around to it so I replaced that side too.

I had a presumably original RH CV axle, it had an axle nut with a captive washer on the nut.

So, I could get a used nut from salvage with a captive washer if using a new axle nut isn't a big deal... but it feels like using the new nut would be preferred (right?) and if so, then I am not finding a listing for a washer by itself at any of the usual places?
