Its most likley the lifters. There is a chance that one could fail and cause the rocker arm to fall off. They are only about $8 each and not that hard to change.

Dont waist your time. Your 2wd jeep wont see any benefits playing in a field. MAYBE you would see a small amount on rutted trails but thats it. In any situation that removing the sway bar would help you you are probably real close to getting stuck, unless of course youve got a locker in the back.
