KJ keeps fending off Grand Cherokee

Hi all, I have been lurking and having a good long test drive with two different Grand Cherokees, 13 and my current a 14, Jeep for some bizarre reason wants to have the flagship look like a Buick Enclave. It may seem strange to compare the two vehicles the 04 Liberty and the 13 GC, but they are...

Mystery Air Box Bung? Where does this go to???

On my Liberty, that breather element in the airbox goes into a tee with one end going to the pcv and the other to the breather element, main part comes from the drivers side valve cover. Mine broke as well

    Buying 2004 Liberty

I agree, 1000 dollars is a starting point. Get it done right and for 5 grand, you will have a great jeep. 5K is a good price for it provided all other things are ok.

    side mirrors moving very slooooooowwwwww

I had the same problem with my passenger side, slow and sometimes it would not move at all, I sprayed some Krown into it and tried it, it went a little faster, not much but then I checked with RockAuto and found out that they sold them for 37 dollars for the assembly, heated as well which I did...

Rear left brake light not working

In addition to the above, do you have an aftermarket trailer light setup? If so, try uplugging it and reconnecting straight. These items really play havoc with the electrics.

    Canadian Trails

The places I used to wheel in are now people populated, Now the place to go is near the Madoc, Belleville area up near the Hwy7 area, north. The best places are north of Sudbury back in the bush, You will have lots of company as these are the only places left for wheelers. You will find trucks...

    Looking at buying another Liberty...

9500 is really high, You should be able to get this for about 6K, mine which is an 04 Liberty Renegade was 6K three years ago with only 49k on it. Others in the area were going for about 1 k plus or minus with that. You are right though, Great Vehicle.

    Tranny slips

As was explained earlier, the CVI test is a indicator of tranny health, by running one you can determine the state of your internal clutches. You can pull the tranny codes from using the cars internal odomoter, just turn the key on and off three times with the third time on without the engine...

    Tranny slips

what year is the jeep? If its before 05 you can have a clutch volume index test done on it. This will give an indication if you have internal clutch problems, also you can run codes and see if you have one, some do not set the check engine light. tranny codes are either 700 series or 1700's if...

    Rear end clunking

I know I was able to do this with my three Broncos, Take the rear driveshaft off and use the front after locking the transfer case. I am not so sure with the Jeep. But if you can you will be able to take to where you need it to go.

Transmission Light on, auto not changing gear

The jeep has a built in code reader, by turning on and off the key three times and the last time leaving on without starting, codes will appear in your display which held the odometer. Your problem should bring up some codes, usually in the 700 range, even though north america uses the obd2...

    04 - P2314 Secondary Circuit- Insufficient Ionization

I looked up this code in the service Manual and it does not indicate bad injectors, what it does say is to check the wires from that coil back to the ASD and the PCM, it looks like an electrical problem rather than a replace parts problem. I cannot post the pinpoint tests due to the policy on...

    RockAuto Rules !!!!!

I love Rock Auto, and have used them a few times, its great that they ship to Canada, the only caveat I have with them is when ordering, watch were the products are coming from, if its two different warehouses then you pay shipping twice, but otherwise great company

Not quite powerful enough to tow?

I dont know what they were thinking but in retrospect I would rather have this tranny with its little oddities than have what Chrysler usually puts into its vehicles. This tranny is reliable, most of past vehicles chrysler made cannot say the same. There are a few exceptions but I really like...

    2005 Liberty-Down for count HELP!

+1 on the service engine light, what you were originally describing I was thinking, a faulty security system. They may have installed the pump wrong. But what really confused me was when you are describing rpm increase but no aceleration. This is probably a different problem. Is it Auto or...

    Better Gas Miliage

I bet you filled up when the low fuel light came on, it is very conservative, You should still have about 20 liters left when that light comes on so the range would go up another 100 to 120 km and still have about 7 liters left. Where you live in Brampton would also have an effect as that area...

    Servicing the tranny

Good for you for changing and doing the serviceing, its always a good thing to change oil and and coolants and plugs. Doing the Tranny however is a different breed of cat, if you know that the interval for changing tranny fluid has been adhered to then change the fluid and filter, if not then...

    Almost, but not quite

Perspective is a funny thing, back in the 90s my Ford Bronco with a 5 liter EFI was not a bad performer and it still got about 15 mpg, Yet look at today, my liberty is the same wheelbase and has roughly the same hp and torque numbers, in fact the liberty is better slightly, all this from a v6...

Diesel CRD Buy or not to buy

The egr problems are not only limited to chrysler, ford, Gm and the big diesels, detroit and mercedes are all having tremendous problems resolving this thorny issue. In fact it may be one of the main reasons diesels will not gain much traction outside of Europe. Pity, as a Diesel in a very...
