will 03 3.7 fit 02??

I am getting conflicting reports according to Hollander and Car-parts-.com an 02 3.7 from a liberty is strickly 02 .Now someone just told be 03 vin k will work........has anyone ever put an 03 3.7 in an 02??

Yes, it will work just fine. You can actually put a 3.7 in your '02 up to a 2012 - with some mods. Basically to put an '03 into your '02 you'll want to keep everything except the block from your '02 to put on the '03 long block. Probably a good time to get a new oil pan as they are prone to rust - they're cheap ($60 or so.)

If you want to put in a lower mileage engine - and one that's probably cheaper cuz it won't be from a Liberty - here's a link on how to do it.

Anything new than an 04 you will have to change the relucto rings out.
