I retired my old 89 jeep wrangler, and got my 07 liberty, due to needed more room to haul the family, but my old wrangler has a good home, a friend of mine owns it and drives it daily....
I traded my 2003 Subaru Outback Limited Sedan for my 2006 Liberty CRD. I loved the Subaru and it was 2nd Roo. The Outback was a great car for all weather very dependable too. I wanted something with more room for camping and was thinking about getting a camper in the future. I looked at the liberty and liked the look and size but wasn't sure about the fuel economy. Then a friend of a friend i met showed me his Liberty CRD and how it got the same as my Outback and could tow 5000 lbs. So since the Outback was at 97k and was going to need major maintance (timing belt, water pump & cam seals) at 105k I decided to look for a CRD.
I ended up with my 2006 with only 38k. I gave up nearly nothing in creature comforts and with the good trade in I got on the Roo I only had to put down about the same amount I would have spent to keep the Roo going. I was a little sad al leaving the Roo since I realy did like it and took great care of it. I hope it found someone new to love it as much as I did and now love my Liberty.
Here is a pic of the Outback I traded for the Jeep
I sold my 03 GMC Envoy that I purchased at auction for $2900. Had 232,000 on it sold it with 254,000 for $5700. Used that to buy my 02 limited with 123,000. So the way I look at it I bought my KJ for $2900. Yeah that felt good!
We traded our wonderful 01 Ford explorer Sport leather edition 135,000 miles on it to get a 07 Jeep Lib..29,000 miles on it...fully loaded minus the leather and rack lamps!
Traded in an '08 Honda Civic with 20,000 miles basically straight across for an '06 Liberty with 45,000 miles. The wife liked the Civic, but we needed 4WD (and I like the Jeep!!!).
