I got 265/70/16's for my Jeep and I think I'm having buyers remorse. I don't see too many people on this site with the same size tire. Any reason why anyone chose the smaller tires??

Here's a question...
Is a 265/70/16 any real benefit over a 245/75/16?
The 265 is just over 0.78 inch or 19.812 millimeter wider. And the tire diameter is 0.14 inch or 3.556 millimeter taller and the Tire+Wheel Radius is only 0.07 inch or 1.778 millimeter bigger and the Tire Circumference is 0.43 inch or 10.922 millimeter greater!
If you air down a 245 cross section tire, I'd think you would get pretty much the same!
So, is there any point to going to a 265 tire... Other than looks?
Probably doesn't do much for MPG either!
plus now you have switched from talking about 265-70-16 to 265-75-16 so which ones are we talking about ??
oh by the way Ryan an aired down 265 will have a larger contact patch than the 245
That was the advantage.Yes, that makes sense!
But it still does not answer the question of weather a 265-70-16 offers any benefits over a 245-75-16 tire?
