I followed manual instructions probably 100 times and cant get the vehicle into this mode.

Manual says.

1) Hold lock button on key fob down for minimum of 4 and maximum of 10 seconds

2) Push the unlock button at the same time

3) Release both buttons

Repeated many many times with different delays and tried holding unlock for a while. No success, has anyone figured out how to do this?

You have to be in the car with all doors closed. Follow the directions closely try again and follow up

No overhead console.

My manual says 20-40 feet away from the vehicle. I tried that and closer. All of my doors were closed.

Will try from inside the vehicle and report back.

Hold the lock button, then press the panic button. Release.

kuench is the man! :happy160::happy160::happy160:

I dont know all the years this applies to but I have an 05 and the instructions to kill the chirp when locking the doors should read as follows.

1) With doors unlocked and closed. Push and hold the lock button on the fob for somewhere between 4-10 seconds, try for 6 or 7 and you should get it.

2) Continue to hold the lock button and also press the panic button.

3) Release both buttons.

If the alarm goes off you've gotten the timing wrong. I was standing directly in front of the vehicle within two feet of the front bumper.

Took me two tries.

Thank you kuench.

Also as a side note I finally noticed that the procedure in the manual that says it preforms this function actually does something different.

It changes whether or not the turn signals all flash when you lock and unlock the vehicle. I was so angry about the horn not turning off I never even payed attention to the turn signals. It wasn't until I tried sitting in the vehicle and I heard the turn signals flash that I noticed it.

Now I have no chirp and the signals flash when the vehicle is locked. :happy107:

Glad you got it working!
I like my chirp ha ha...But..
Sometimes late at night, if I want to sneak in quietly ..
With driver's door open, I use the door lock switch, close the door and walk away. 16 seconds later it arms itself anyways, and no horn chirp.

Glad you got it. Sounds like it's a PIA without the overhead console that has the options menu. Mine is an 05 too but I have the overhead console and it has all the options in it and it is easy so I am spoiled. I hate the horn chirp too and I shut mine off. I can hear the door locks clicking locked and unlocked anyway even from 50 feet away.
