Rocker Panel Protection - Rock Rail Advice

I am shopping for rock rails for my '06 KJ and am looking for advice. Currently looking at Rocky Road SuperSliders and JKS SuperNerfs. Am I going in the right direction or are there better options available? Thanks!

Yeah, I looked at those and they do look beefy. Only problem I saw was that they only ship them bare steel; not to sound lazy, but I'd like to get some ready to go!

I got mine Line-X-ed and the reason they come bare steel is b/c if they were to be painted or anything like that, the UPS guy will tear it off. Not through fault of their own, but just b/c it happens!

GET THEM ANDYOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!

The reason they come bare steel is it is cheaper to ship that way and powdercoating is a waste of time for rockrails. When they arrive just spray some Rustoluim hammered paint on them and mount up.

The RL Super Skinks are worth there weight in gold, have saved my KJ many times. On one trail run RockLizard was riding shotgun and I slipped of a rock and dropped 2' directly on the outerbar of the right side slider. My KJ is at 5500lbs so it's not light, the noise was rather loud and RL said stop,he thought I broke the rail, nope just put a small and barely noticeable dent in the outer tube(not the main rail itself). That was one very hard hit!

advice on sliders
dont go cheep
dont bother with fancy paint

while I do not have any on the KJ ,not really needed for the type of wheeling it does
I do have some on the TJ and they look bad ,paint wise
however if I did not have them I would not be able to use my doors
They came bare steel and I painted them once after they got bad or about a month
I decided it is just not worth it to try to keep up so I dont

Yep kinda of worthless.I painted mine and touch them up every so often as needed.

Also key in KJ rock rails is the mounting,Pro has a weak mounting system but sure they use 1/4" main rails but that means nothing with a piss poor mounts.
