Some of my photos from the weekend (and what a great weekend it was)! :badger_1:

Spotted this guy on the way in to our campsite location - we watched him land in the tree, and luckily he hung around long enough for me to snap a couple of pictures. (cool)

Despite only having 3 vehicles total, I think it's safe to say that we all had a really good time. The overnights were chilly, but not overly so. We all stayed warm. I ran this in 2WD and only got stuck in the mud once. It's always good to have friends along. :) Unfortunately we got there about 2-3 weeks before the autumn leaves really popped with color... they were just starting this weekend. Will have to remember to go later in the year.

Vicki (jeepfrog) has a lot of great photos too - I hope she posts some of hers.

It was a lot of fun! I just wish we spent more time in Nicolet. We cut our time short after I slipped in some mud and banged up my knee really well. :( Ah well, there's always next year!

Jaber - most (if not all) of the trails we hit a stocker could handle quite easily.

Looks like a great time. I love the trails in Nicolet, some of the most scenic northwoods that most will never see. Jaber: I second that your stocker could do most trails up there. My avatar was taken in those same woods, three days after I bought it. Most obstacles have enough room to navigate around them if you aren't comfortable tackling them.

Hmm...I'm not so sure about that. I think Matt may have messed up a control arm???

I think that most (if not all) of the national forests have old access/logging roads that are open to full size vehicles. Check the forest service website for the national forest near you! (PSA over...) :badger_1:

I wish we had some near my hometown too - this was a 5-6 hour drive north of where we live. So worth it.

Not officially. I went up with only 2wd capabilities (waiting on the new front diff) - I'm pretty sure that's why I got stuck. :p

Matt (in the XJ) already had a few things wrong with his jeep... he trailered it
to Nicolet instead of driving it.

But, no... nothing broke that we weren't already aware of.

Oh... just FYI... we do a trip up there every year (this was my 4th year). Normally we go in the fall, although we were talking this time about maybe a trip late summer next year. I'll post more info when we get another weekend trip in the works. Stay tuned. :D
