New Mopar camshaft sensor already dead??

Hey guys, as some of you know I did a rebuild/build on an 03 3.7 front the junkyard. I used all new brand new oem Mopar sensors, but my camshaft position sensor has already gone out and left me stranded. It didn't have but a couple thousand miles on it, but I swapped in the old and it's been fine ever since. I did get the camshaft sensor from a Mopar dealership on eBay, but haven't had a problem with them before. What do you guys think? Bad sensor, or the start of something?

probably dumb luck and it was a bad sensor.

I agree it's probably bad luck. Did the new oem look like the original ? If not then I'd suspect they swapped it for a aftermarket part. But I doubt it, I've not had any problems with dealers who sell on eBay.

When you replace the cam position sensor you need to have a cam position sensor relearn proformed.

No, that's not necessary. Just put in the new one, start it up and drive away. There's nothing to 'relearn.'
