Homemade rock rails?

does anyone have the measurements for rock rails? i am a pretty good welder and see no reason why i cant make some myself. How do they mount to the frame? and do they actually touch the bottom of the body?

Most normally have bars that attach to the frame and a lengthwie bar or angle to attach to lower pinch weld.
