When you say self clearance, does that mean it hit until it made enough room by smashing it down itself?

i know for sure there was 2 of the pockets that i cut to the bottom so they were flush. I think that was the side closest to the bumper. but that's what JBA said to do so i followed instructions...
I cant wait , 20 min im off work and can find out if that swaybar deal will fix my problem. Will keep you guys posted later tonight.

You guys rock, thanks for your help, dont know what id do without ya!

A lot of us have Duratracs but... Do yourself a favour .. wait for tires as long as you can stand it.

You are going to need another alignment in a few months. From now until then your alignment is changing (as your springs break in) and you risk some crazy wear your new tires. Especially if you drive it like you stole it... like me :D

Your call of course, but you can learn from my experience if you wish ;)

You will notice some loss of power, whether it's too much is something you kinda have to answer for yourself though. It doesn't bother me I just kick up the revs to compensate ;)

I ran with 265 for a while before regearing did I notice yes but I kept the OD off around town and it wasn't bad. I'd say go for it but still regear. When you do regear you'll be even more happier. Well I Just spent my 2 cents.

My take on regearing
I knew my gears were going in soon but wanted to get tires right away
The next two weeks were hell to drive, couldn't use over drive until you got up about 80 then it would still kick back and forth , It ran 10-15 degrees hotter and mileage dropped 5-6 MPGs
after regearing it was like having stock tires on again, mileage back to 20-21 and it ran right where it did before.
******* the engine and transmission makes both work harder
but hey its yours to do with what you want

Ask TwoBobs, TJKJ any and I'm sure they'll say about the same thing

You could wait for a consensus ... from the experts. I suspect they would all caution against the extra lift. I can only tell you that if I did that to mine my CV's would be angry in about 10 minutes.

Are both sides like that? What is your measurement from the middle of your hub to the bottom of the fender flare?

Personally I would loosen the clevis bolt and let the shock seat itself ... you are most likely higher than the comfort zone already.

NOTE: you will need an alignment if you do... or not new tires ;)

Waiting to see what hub to flare measurement is. Are those the new shocks from OME that AllJs are using now? If so they may look a little different BUT still looks like it maybe up some. With a Frankenlift as high as they are out of the box you don't want to add even a gnats hair to the height
Can you get a shot up higher/ more straight on?

it looks fine to me, notice how much shock meat there is at the bottom of the clevis pinch area, nearly flush. My Ironmans have that gap between the black bottom ring and the lip that a clevis or clevis spacer rests on. His looks fully seated.

Your right, there is nothing wrong with that clevis lift on it's own .. but when you first install a Frankenlift you are sitting at around 23" - 23.5". That is already 4 - 4.5" of lift. Any more and loud grumbly things start to occur :)

Maybe they changed the shock design, but mine fit flush with the top of the clevis.

Not sure on the new OME shocks ,
BUT the old style hung below the bottom of the clevis about an 1/8 of an inch or so.
Again not sure what the new ones look like but just going off the old ones.

havnt got a chance to take some more pics yet, but when we first put these on we pushed that clevis right up to the top of that shock, and then there was the yellow hanging out the bottom of the clevis. This looks like it has come apart since. These must be the new shocks, I bought my kit right after the price increase..

ok, heres the Drivers & Passenger side, they both look identical. That previous pic wasnt a good angle, when i took it from below it looks like theres a real big gap, straight on it looks like this;

That noise is a bit louder this morning, i guess i just need to keep playing with the swaybar until this is settled in?

Im measuring just over 22" all around, all looks pretty even.

That looks perfect ... it was an optical illusion.

I think I just got a mutant franky .. you are an inch and a quarter lower than mine when first installed (post alignment). That is not necessarily bad news ;)
