You mean the upper ball joint? ... are you using the cotter pin? What are you torquing it to?
I don't use it because of the corrosion factor, but mine have never come loose.

i finally found out what the knocking & vibration was coming from. The lower ball join nut on the control arms (the one with the pin through it) keeps coming loose. I have to keep tightening it, is that normal? HOw do i stop it from coming loose?
If you torqued it correctly the 1st time then by now it's most likely to late and a new LCA will be needed since most likely by now the tapered hole is wallowed out and it will never stay tight.

It was the upper control arm ball joint nut.

The ball joint he uses on the 4.5 is replaceable with a Moog K__ what is the replacement # ??

Yes but that is NOT the correct part number .... it's transposed should be k9262.

I emailed Marlin months ago ... no response. Funny because every other time he has responded immediately.
