I just tightened to spec the a-arm on my side about a month ago. I'm talking about the bolts inside the engine bay. Now they seem to be clunking again and are loose. What gives? are the bushings bad after only 2.5 years?

Guess I'll be ripping the battery out again. :disgust:

Could be things do wear out but I've never had an issue
Take out the battery to tighten? I check mine ( along with everything else every month or so) and can reach down in with socket and extensions good enough

Yeah I guess I just never tried it like that. I'll try with my extensions and whatever else I need.

Replace said nuts with new locknuts and manup on tightening them. There M12 bolts that are grade 10.9,they can take 120lbs-ft of torque easily. If they have been loosening up the holes maybe woolowed out now and the reason for not staying tight.

Well didn't get new nuts but I torqued them to 120 ft lbs. I don't think 90 is enough. I don't know what I was thinking but you can fairly easily get to them with removing anything. I just always assumed you needed to remove the battery and stuff to get to them. I never really looked at it to do it without removing those things. Anyway, I used about 2 feet of extensions and a swivel to do the back ones.

Now, on a heavier note, anyone know the going rate of a rear main seal replacement?
