Exactly what it says in the title. I used my wife's Libby the other day and needed to use 4wheel drive. The dash indicator came on correctly as I cycled through the gears from 2wd, 4parttime, 4fulltime, neutral, 4lo. But then cycling back down to 2wd somehow the dash indicator got off from the shift linkage. When I shifted from 4lo to 4fulltime it thinks its in neutral. And when I shift from 4fulltime to 4partime it thinks its in 4fulltime. And then when I finally shift from 4partime down into 2wd it thinks its in 4partime according to the dash indicator. Somehow the dash indicator is 1 selection off from the shift linkage. How do I fix this? Any help would be great thanks.

Thanks. Does it ride on a gear tooth or something? How else would it jump and get only 1 selection off? Do you think I can reposition it or will it definitely need a new one?

The switch has a variation in resistance based upon how much its depressed sending the signal to illuminate the right light.

Like any of these switches they work until the don't and once the sealed bit is compromised any rehab is only temporary.

the install thread has autopsy pictures and the resistance readouts if you must confirm yours is bad.

I would buy a new one and be done with it.

All right thanks. I'll do a search for the write up then I guess. Just another slew of parts to add to the list.
