like what, a drill? a piece of straw?
typically an exhaust leak is accompanied by a rhythmic POP POP POP, not a hiss

When you breathe in through a straw, it goes hiss.
When you fart, it goes POP POP POP. Sometimes fast, which would be the high pitched ones, sometimes just like that, sometimes just one pop.
If you hiss when you fart you have problems.
