[Read last paragraph if you would like to see my basic inquiry/question]

This is like the 3rd or 4th time this has happened to my poor liberty. Half the times I replaced it myself, but now its getting frustrating because I shell out the $$$ to the dealer for the part or whatever.

Anyway, this also happened to my sister's Jeep, but her's is newer and they ended up replacing the glass and all. Even then, just a few days ago, one of them failed again. That dealer ended up doing the job free of charge because of some class action lawsuit.

In my specific case, it's not an electrical issue, because the regulator operates, but I haven't inspected the window yet to see the cause of failure this time. Basically, the window just fell down by itself when I pushed the switch to move it down. And it does not go up/down with the use of the electrical regulator.

I found this class action lawsuit here:

Jeep Liberty Defective Window Class Action

AND

Chrysler Jeep Liberty Class Action Lawsuit Complaint Over Window or Door Regulators - Class Action Lawsuits In The News | Class Action Lawsuits In The News

I'm also looking for this PDF:

http://www.courthousenews.com/2010/12/22/Chrysler.pdf

But I can't seem to download it using Internet Explorer or Firefox. It appears to be damaged. Perhaps someone could do some deep digging on the web or if one has a copy, others may benefit from it.

Anyway, I hope this helps others out there and if anyone has any TIPS/SUGGESTIONS for how I can get this issue fixed at the dealer free of charge, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

Chris!

Are using Adobe Reader to view the PDF?
If so, uninstall it and install Foxit Reader. It's free as well but works a lot better. When I click your link for the PDF file in Firefox it went to open it up in the browser but it wouldn't work and it gave me an option to save the file and open it in Foxit Reader. I was then able to view the file.

Thanks ChiefRudy. :rockit: You inspired me!! I ended up downloading the file and using SumatraPDF to open it. Then I re-printed it to a PDF using Bullzip PDF Creator so it is "fixed" and will open using Acrobat Reader, etc.

Due to the forum's file upload size limit, I couldn't attach it to the post, so I put it here:

UploadMB.com

Better grab it while it lasts.

Thanks for posting I had no idea there is/was a class action suit about this. I just had to get the window regulator changed on my 07 KJ about 2 months ago to the tune of $450.00.

Not a problem buddy. I'm a I.T. specialist. So solving computer problems is my thing.
