17" rims 5x5 on 03' KJ?

Thinking of buying BF Goodrich Mud terrain T/A tires 255/75R17 on 17" rims for my 03' KJ. Found a good deal from someone selling these package (5 wheels and tires) for 800$.
Will 2.5" lift of the OME 948/927 be sufficient so there won't be rubbing?

Also wheels are from a wrangler, so it got a 5x5" lug pattern, thinking of using adapters like:

No on the good deal, some around here are going for way less due to no one wanting them
No a 2.5 inch lift is not nearly enough lift
You'll need 4 inches of lift and a regear to at least 4.10s
I'd start looking at better alternatives than those wheels and tires and running spacers since you have to end up buying a 4 inch lift and regearing.
Unless of cousre you are willing to drop over $2000 to run a good deal on tires and wheels:shrug::shrug::icon_lol:

According to my calc the 'new' wheels will have total 32" diameter, current ones 29", why do you say 4" lift needed?

I'm about to drop 800$+tax on the OME 2.5" lifts and Bilstein shocks. Don't know about install price yet for those.

So what would be the recommended MAX wheel+tire size after I install these?
Tried using the table on the sticky post but still unsure.

With just the 2.5" lift, I would go with a 245/75/16 (~30.5"). 265/70/16's are about the same size but quite a bit wider. Expect heating and trimming needed for the latter.

32" just won't fit quite right at that height. The amount of lift to tire size upgrade are not directly proportional as you seem to be assuming.

Tire weight is also a factor. With 265/70 load range D's I'm getting only 15-17 MPG and a pretty large hit in power. I wish I could regear but it's just not in the cards. The 32's will be quite a bit heavier than what I have.

Yes on the 17s find wheels that actually work without spacers and you'll be much happier in the end
4 inches is needed to clear 32s as mentioned already
as far as 245-75-16s you're even going to take a hit with them some what
My current build is going with 2.5 inches of lift and 265-70-16s on Jeep Moab wheels BUT also with 4.10 gears .
More than likely you will need to pound over the pinch wel as well. I have pictures on the way we do them here if you want

245/70R16's in a P metric tire is the largest with not much of a hit in power and MPG's.

Your going to feel 245/75's since the overall size and weight since most are LT tires which are heavy compared to P metric tires.

Our KJ runs LT245/75R16E rubber with stock gearing. Also using 1.25" spacers with stock 16x7 wheels which turns the 5" backspacing into about 3.75". Rubs a tiny bit on the plastic bumper at full lock.

Its been fine for how we use it.

Do you recommend the use of spacers? What's the pros/cons for that? Any hit on MPG?

It gets about 18mpg hwy with those tires. It had 235/70r16 before. Spacers haven't given me any trouble.

Theres some power loss, but its a manual trans so you just shift at different times.

About 2" for the last 3 years. Now at 3" for the last month or so.

Yes, from lots of experience in lifting these ( over 35 so far plus many different setups on mine with various tire sizes on them
