Sold my KJ.... so I've moved on to the owners forum (http://www.explorerforum.com/) for my new vehicle (2006 Explorer 4x4 XLT V8).
Really liked the level of detail on this site... the Ford Explorer forum is not quite as technically savvy as the KJ'rs. Miss your site.
Don't get carried away...
My trailer running lights and my dashboard illumination lights went out last night when towing.. I can't find any bad fuses.. need help troubleshooting.
The interior (i.e. dome) lights still work but I can't see the speedometer at night since it has gone "dark".
Hazard lights still light...
Hopefully you found somewhere to recycle your oil... If not I found this lookup service after being rudely surprised that Napa wouldn't take my used oil.

I noticed that I'm getting some rust build-up on my 2006 already as seen in my air-lift install picture below. Does anybody paint their undercarriage/suspension parts to keep the rust under control. I'm sure the Minnesota road salt has contributed to this rust.
I have the mechanical fan since I have the Sport Tow package.. but it's awfully noisy. Has anyone dumped the mechanical fan or found a better aftermarket clutch to quite this thing down on the highway... It sure doesn't seem like the stock mechanical clutch actually disengages...
My wife pointed out that almost every KJ you see on the road is driven by a woman and said I drive a girl car. Since then I've always wanted to make my KJ look a little more macho... but I just don't see many easy mods that do much for the looks...
My install looks like yours, except my air bags are "right side up" with the air hose at the bottom. I used the same hole for mounting the fill valve. I can take a couple of pics if there is a certain part you are interested in.
Had to push the springs half-way off the bottom seats to drill the...
Someone backed a boat trailer in to my front bumper (and took off), now the wimpy plastic "fascia" needs to be replaced. Anyone know what I should pay for the fascia for DIY install? Can't bring myself to spend too much on this piece of plastic. Any tips on where to find one around Minneapolis?
No, the MPG is a joke and there are some crappy parts like crummy window regulators and lousy seat fabric that tarnish an otherwise reliable vehicle. It's fun to drive and has great 4wd, but I think I'd buy something with a V8 for better highway towing of my boat. It gets old towing with...
I did the install today and found it easier to drill 3/8" holes in the bottom spring seat to run the air line through. The install was pretty easy. I did it at the same time as changing my gear lube and transfer case ATF4.
Mileage is a sore spot with me & the KJ... I would have bought a different and more capable tow vehicle if I would have known it would not get anywhere near the advertised MPG... It's a fun little truck to drive and has an awesome turn radius and 4wd... but I was duped by Chrysler in this...
I see the top hole on mine... looks tricky to route the hose up through the hole and back out the frame... looks like you used a coat hanger and pried the panel out of the way with the removed bump stop..
Any key tricks here?
Question 3
3> I can't tell from your picture... is the air bag situated with the air line coming out the top or bottom of the spring?
4> did you disconnect the sway bar to drop the axle further?
5> The instructions show the spacer below the air-bag and it looks like it might be on top of...
Install questions for Air-lift
I've got the kit and reading through the install instructions.
1> Did you have to drill a hole in the spring seat for the air line to pass through.?
2> Did you have to remove the "bump stop" at the top of the spring and leave it off?
