I'm glad I got the job done when I did!... temperature dropped here in portland and we got 6 inches of snow yesterday! I woke up this morning and saw a spot of what i thought was fluid under the same general area and freaked out... but it looks like it was in the same spot it had been dripping...

I can't find an image or diagram anywhere for the bleed hole on my 2006 jeep liberty...

The gasket was bad... pump was fine, but i replaced it anyway. I did not fill through the bleed hole, so I hope everything is fine... I just ran the jeep with the cap off the overflow and filled the coolant after it would bubble up and go down into the radiator...the gasket was bad at the...

So, I replaced the water pump finally yesterday! The hardest part was getting the lower radiator hose off! They are held on with tension hose clamp and on top of that the hose was attached pretty solid, took awhile! I was a little afraid of damaging the radiator, but I had to go for it...

Thanks for the help i got some confidence now! Did you unhook the bottom hose to dtain radiator? I just called autozone and the will loan torque wrench! Did you follow any procedure when refilling the coolant? Thanks for the help!!

I finally found the leak...its at the bottom of the waterpump. I believe its just the seal so i think ill go ahead and replace the pump as well...cant afford dealer pump, is that what you used? its kind of a bummer because i had the coolant flushed at 92,000 miles! Thanls for the help!!

Can anyone tell me if there is something I need to do specifically when refilling the coolant in my 2006 jeep liberty automatic? I usually just fill a vehicle from the overflow tank, seal the cap and drive it a mile or so and check it again... am I supposed to fill it and then start the vehicle...

No... i have a day off on tuesday and im going to go for it then. I appreciate the help. I figure if I have to take the whole thing off i might as well just replace the pump and save myself the trouble down the road... i have about 103,000 miles on the jeep. I can't afford any other repairs...

Do you guys think the issue could be the timing cover??

I bought the pump and am going to replace on day off. I have been reading more and I read someone had an issue with it actually being the timing cover itself!! Has anyone heard of this being an issue with a KJ?? How much would this cost to fix?

I forgot to mention it seems to only leak when it has sat overnight... I cant get it to leak if engines warm... So you just put the wrench right on the pullew bolt on pull clockwise and it releases tension to get bolt loose? makes sense...if so im goin for it :)

Lol i have no idea. Do you know if a sand cast plug leak is a serious repair? The leak is coming from the right side of engine and is dripping slow (some days not at all) down to the oil filter drain guide and then dripping off of that...the water pump looks ok on the top ... But everyone says...

I think i have an issue with my jeep leaking a small amount of coolant under the center right side of engine compartment. I was wondering if anyone could tell me a quick giveaway for a freeze plug leak vs a water pump? Thank you

No i havent i am a little nervous to do this but i think i will tomorrow. there wouldnt be play if it was gasket issue right?

It isnt oil but something is dripping and catching on that "drip tray". the fluid is light orange like antifreeze
