Yesterday:
Jeep has been running a bit off lately. Felt like it was idling rough, and every time I'd shift it'd make diesel rattling type noises; pretty sure it's . So, I stuffed a full can of seafoam in through a vacuum line, let it sit, then tore off down the road. BI.G BL.ACK CLOUD obscured the entire neighborhood. :D Running a lot better now, but I think it needs another treatment.

(why the he double hockey sticks is it censoring 'big' and 'black'?)

good luck on the female front. I don't know if I'd want mine back. I mean, we've had several moments where it looked like I was minutes away from grabbing my hat and walking out the door, but gave long and considerable thought to it before doing so, and decided it wasn't quite worth it yet. Luckily things calmed down every time. Only thing the wife is missing is the red hair to go with her irish attitude, to give you an idea of the fireworks we get occasionally. :D
We shall see. I've too many projects to really bother with the games anymore.

< stares at floor in shame >

I, uh... actually installed the lights about five years ago. I could never make up my mind on the switches and bought several varieties, none of which looked as good when I test fitted them in the Jeep as they did when I spotted them in the store. So I ended up drilling three holes and using the ones which came with the light wiring kit. And I like them. The first switch controls the front spotlights (middle pair of lights), the second switch controls the front floodlights (outside pair of lights), and the third switch controls the rear work lights. I used to get to use them just a few times a year coming back across the fields after deer hunting but since I can't do that any more this may be the last time they ever get turned on.

And I only blew one fuse doing it! :D
I don't know why more folks don't install the rear work lights/back up lights/tailgater blinders. I use them far more than my other lights, particularly as the stock reverse lights are useless. I actually wired mine into the reverse circuit. Were the cheapo amazon no-names and have fried one. Have a 7" Oz bar to install to replace them.

Looking good!

Took a little trip down to Winston Salem NC for a few days
Pulled one of my trailers down ( the open 5x7 )
Took the 05 this time, ran great even coming back up the hills in Va, WVa etc to Ohio
Overall did over 750/775 or so never burped, puked, missed a beat even at plus speeds loaded down
( wife rearranging, buying some new furniture, and me hauling it ( the old stuff , well year old , to our son in Columbus )
Finish taking it up when snow stops here , hopefully stops until its too warm to even snow any !!!

Was out and about with a friend visiting some of his farmer buddies out in the sticks. First two farms we went to both had abandoned KJ's laying about! Hopefully these will yield some underbody armour mine is missing and hopefully a set of 16"s to swap out my scabby 17"s with.

Mine has got the opposite problem: won’t budge! For yours I would say remove (when cool), clean up threads, and possibly use some plumbers teflon tape on the threads if you can’t get a watertight seal.

So I found myself running early for work this morning and I pass a part worn tyre outfit on the way, having 10 mins to spare I pull in to see what they have in 235/65/17 and 235 70/16's. Young matey boy swaggers over to my window all Jack the Lad.
"Just wondering what kind of stock you hold either in 235/65/17 or 235 70/16? Something with a bit of shoulder on it."
"You won't get 16's mate" he says " Everything 17 now"
I can feel the old bull$###ometer doing an auto-start.
"Really?" says I, "So do you have anything 17" A/T in?"
"Nah mate" says the tyre guru "No one makes 17's for off-road, they are all road treads. What you need is 235/85/16's"
"Really?" says I, "I had a set of them on the truck I've just sold but they were too big to fit on this."
"Nah mate" he says, properly letting me know what a pleb I am "They are the same size as yours. I fit them all the time to these" pointing at my jeep "they go straight on no problem."
"Really?" says I " I thought you'd need a pretty radical lift and gearing change to use 85's"
"Nah mate" says says the expert, on a roll now "Just put them on and off you go. But these jeeps aren't proper 4x4's they are for beginners. People start off with these then they get real ones."
"Really?" says I " I've been driving 4X4's for a few decades now and this is a much higher spec than a lot of them, it's not a CRV you know"
"Nah mate" he says, basking in the glow of his superior wisdom "They are soft roaders for cruising down boulevards, no good for off road"
"Really?" says I "Well thank you for your help"
I just managed to get off the forecourt before wetting myself with laughter and my bull$###ometer went into a terminal meltdown.

Signed up to do some trails in January at the 4x4 winter jamboree in Utah...should be fun, went with scenic trails with some obstacles. Didnt feel like beating up the rig by going on the hard ones ,especially since I have to drive her back home afterwards
