I have seen quite a few Wranglers with a full belly pan skid plate set up and was wondering if anything could be fabricated for the Liberty. I have searched online for something pre-made but there is nothing for my 2007 other than the engine, transmission and transfer case skid plates.

My issue is there is a lot of room around the Liberty skid plates for branches to get caught or rocks to get kicked up and bounce around. I am not interested in rock crawling, more backwoods trail riding.

I have heard that the transmission needs air moving over it to stay cool so I do not want to have a solid belly pan. Would a large sheet of aluminum work? Lowes sells some that could work.

This is way over the top, but the middle piece is kind of like what I was thinking.

Lowes does not sell anything close enough to work for a good skid
and you do not need a full belly unless you are doing extreme rock crawling
I run a mixture of skids ( skid row, matrix , Kilby ) and all are very heavy duty, covering from bumper toengine skid which attaches to the transmission skid, then one over the transfer case and then a Kilby gas tank skid
Going any further back and you run into driveshaft, exhaust etc

Grab a lot of cardboard and mock it up. Then go to a meta fab shop and have it made. Find good mounting points to make for easy removal.

My 2006 Liberty Renegade came with a bunch of OEM skid plates that I believe the "Sport" did not have... You might want to search a few salvage yards or car-part.com for a donor Renegade...

My sport has engine, trans, transfer case, and gas tank skids. Might have been part of some upgrade package, but I'm curious if the renegade's are any different?

Thanks for all the feedback!

I need new hardware for my transfer case skid plate as the ones I pulled from the salvage yard are just not holding up too well. I have been looking for a transmission skid plate but have yet to find one.

I live in Virginia and shipping from Detroit (or really anywhere out of state) for just the transmission skid plate would be a huge cost.
