This is a last resort.

As some may recall, I live in South Africa and own an 05 3.7. Circumstances are that for the last 3 years I carry out my own services and repairs where possible. In a previous life, I had someone do these jobs for me. To my surprise when I recently decided to replace rear brake pads, I found that on both sides of the vehicle, only the lower slipper plates were in place on the calipers and nothing on the upper pad slider i.e. only one on each side. The obvious result is the calipers have begun to wear(quite severely on the one side) where the brake pads sit. The problem is not even Jeep South Africa provide any hardware with a new set of pads, these must be bought separately. Sounds fine, BUT no one supplies these items locally, and I have searched high and low to find new. I could track down an old KJ wreck and strip from there, but new is clearly first prize. Is anyone able to assist me with 4 of these slipper plates, either locally or shipped to SA, please? They are so small they could easily be brought over with someone on vacation perhaps? Any help or advice would be appreciated

You mean these clips? How about Ebay? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/142812215155 If you cannot get on ebay and this is the right thing, try looking under the part number. At least you have that if this is what you are looking for.

Those are exactly what I'm looking for. Thank you for the advice. Our South African Rand exchange rate makes them about R450 which is quite expensive for us, but it would appear I have no other options. Thanks once again, I may just call on a buddy in the UK.

Definitely expensive for small metal clips. I do not know what all options you have for ordering things there. I am sure it is different than here in the US. Shipping is the bad part though. Maybe someone will have them and will respond yet. Did you try Facebook? The Jeep Liberty KJ group has many members from around the world. Good luck.

Quite often come with replacement pads. At least the last few sets I've bought
