Insurance guy looked at it today. I was given the option to have them total it. If I did they would value it at $47xx. I would have to buy it back at $3900. Not sure if this is negotiable. If I took the check to fix it I was offered $3400 -$500 deductible. If it was over $3900 it would be totaled no matter what.

I took the check to fix it. The fender and door may be salvageable if I can straighten them. Will need a new hood. Won't be able to tell anything happened when they are fixed/replaced.

Thinking I'm going to look into doing the whole Jeep in a factory blue mixed bed liner. I saw a blue Line-X Wrangler at Jeep Luaua and it was sharp looking.

Except I would most likely use Raptor Liner as that's what I did my interior floors with and Line-X quoted me $5-6000 so f that.

If you're replacing them with new metal, can I grab the old, dented parts? I've been meaning to practice some auto body skills and would love to tackle that hood especially.

I got the TC to lock for the first time since December. In November my output speed sensor died, when I pulled the old one out there was some plastic missing from the tip. Early January I was able to drop the pan and change the filter and fluid. Refilled it and added a bottle of Lucas treatment. Shift got smoother but the TC still wouldnt lock. My drive to work doesnt offer many places to get going fast enough to lock, but this morning it finally locked up. So I gassed it to make it disengage, let off a little and it engaged again, albeit a little slow. I just got a transgo kit for it and will be installing it next weekend, new cooler goes in then too.

I like it too. I had the Borla on my 02. It was on it when I bought it and was one of the things that caught my eye. Sounded great when you get into it a bit. Never a problem with it in the 10 years I had it but now I wish I had blacked it out too.

Thank you.

Seeing that it had a borla system kind of made me over look some of the other imperfections. You can see in the one pic on the rear passenger side fender flare has a few deep scratches. Normally i would have talked major shit about stuff like that to get the price down further or get them to fix it. Instead i will be putting some love into it to make it good as new. Not a problem i did get a good deal in my opinion compared to everything else i was looking at.

Parked them side-by-side today. I forget how tall the thing is... 4" difference between the two.

Took pics of the KJ, inside and out. For posting on Craigslist.
I think I'll ask $2250 to start with. Hopefully it'll sell quick, I hate walking past it every day:blah:

Had to go pick up something on my day off yesterday and I made the PepBoys guy sell me the right thermostat cap. Cost $1 more, but I'm at 16PSI. Next is returning the wrong one I used for a week. Thanks Hoosier.

I drove it for the last time...

...as a single guy...

...to church...

...and drove it home for the first time as a married man.

No prob! I don't know why the catalogs spec 18PSI for the KJ when all the ones I know of take a 16.

The young guy behind the counter checked again when I told him, and he agreed that when he checked the aftermarkets, they were all listed at 16 PSI, unlike the older clerk who said the one that was on was wrong.

Washed it, removed all my personal belongings, and preparing to drive it one more time before it has a new owner.

Took 4 and a half hours to install a trans cooler due to my hardlines starting to pull out of the flex hose end fittings. She's all good to go now.

Oil change. A lot more room in there without the hd cooling. Still had a hell of a time getting the filter off. Ofcourse none of the filter remover things would fit. So i had to remove the serpentine belt to get a channel lock on there. I got a new wix filter and 5qts of 5w30 synthetic oil. Got Castrol Magnatec full synth.
