Installing the JBA UCA's. Suppose to be for lifted KJ's. Look to be same length as OEM. Just diff in angle of ball joint. I hope the diff between the lofted and stock JBA UCA's is just angle of ball as they are going on now.

if your pushing the upper limits of stock arms with OME coils (or any other coil for that matter), the stock uca can make contact with the spring. It makes a horrible racket.

Then again if your really pushing it, they will make contact with the jba 4.5 uca too.

Can anybody help me with this couples of questions? It has been hard to get any reply from JBA's email:

1.- I wish to buy the JBA UCA's for my Stock Libby.
I want to know if it comes with the new Ball JointK6292

2.- Can I use the JBA UCA' s for lifted KJ in my stock Libby? Well, I don't know if I wish to upgrade my Libby by uplifting it in a couple of years.

I've just got a reply from them. Sorry!

QUOTE

Yes, the a-arms com with ball joints and bushings in them ready to bolt in.

The lifted a-arms will only work with a lift kit.

Our new ball joints will help the stock arms work with a small lift kit.

To clarify further, those arms will work only with 2.5-3"+. I was on the lesser end of this scale and couldn't get my Jeep aligned.

I'm at like 2" (maybe 2.5", def not over that) and my Jeep has never had alignment issues, but if you're over 2.5" you should be safe. Below is kind of a gray area between stock and JBA.

Hi TwoBobKJ and every member of this site, long time not login. That washer look very different between the BJ and the knuckle. My question is It is a single washer or two?

Mine was just a really thick spacer. Gives you some height options if you need to in order to adjust the angle. Just use a smaller washer to drop it lower.

So That it is not the regular washer that come when you buy it from JBA?

That's what I thought. A higher washer gives it a little more height.

The thick washer is basically a spacer that keeps the boot pressed up against the bottom of the ball joint body and ensures the boot retains the grease. The washer doesn't move the the ball joint up or down in the spindle since the taper of the joint's post positions it vertically in the spindle.

Great to hear from you again, BorincanoKJ! :waytogo:

DOES not give any height options
Do not use a smaller washer

the "washers" only purpose in life is to keep the boot from falling off

i got my uca's before they started sending the washers, and eventually put "wiring gromets" on to keep the boot pushed up
