I've stuck with Bendix and Akebono parts, never really had an issue with them. Bosch quiet cast rotors have a life time warranty from my local parts place! :emotions34:

NAPA has a good line of pads and rotors
Drilled and slotted means nothing at all on a every day driver like a Jeep , just paying for hype
Race cars totally different

But seriously since this comment seems to be a favorite of some
again from experience over the last 10-11 years plus that a lot of us have working just on KJs,
some things are better bought from Mopar where other things are better from other places,

I actually haven't been impressed with Napa's Ultra Premium at all.

A little over a year ago I replaced my rotors and pads with Ultra Premium Semi Metallic (pads) in the front. Sure enough, they started squealing a couple of months later. Took them apart to find that the back plate of the pad was separating from the pad and moving, causing the pad to hit the rotor completely at an angle (the back plate was getting hung up on the caliper), causing my squeal. I cut that part of the metal that was causing the pad to be pressed unevenly, and a couple more months down the line I still have squealing, and now I have rotors warping.

The rear is ultra premium rotors and Adaptive One pads. I'm hoping those are fairing a bit better.

I wouldn't suggest Napa based on personal experience.

TO ADD: For the original link...just remember you get what you pay for.

No, I use/sell/recommend the economy line from O'Reilly. Brake Best. Yes a bit of sarcasm for those who take themselves wWWWaaaaayyyyy too seriously.

I got a front'/back kit from brakeperformance.com for my Charger, you can get oem style, slotted, etc with pads, hardware, whatever you need. They have discount codes all over the place too.

On the front I have Centric rotors and EBC greenstuff pads, got about 10k on them, great so far. Might catch some hate for this, but I have Carquest platinum stuff on the rear (ceramic pads) due to it being available when I needed it and it seems ok so far too.

Had Napa stuff on there before, didn't last as long as the Mopar stuff. Got about 85k from the mopar stuff, Napa stuff lasted only 45k. Performed fine though.

Good place to buy wax and air freshners:icon_lol:

At 217,000 on my second set of Mopar brake pads front and rear
Front rotors were switched out for other MOPAR ( at 98,000 miles) since I got front kit ( pads, hardware, rotors ) from a Jeep tech who sold his KJ for less than 40 bucks

My Brake Best pads and rotors went on @ approx 130,000 (Silverado SS) Truck's got approx 240,000 now. Still 1/3+ material left. For around $18.00, not doing too bad. But then I put a lot more wear on the "GO" pedal than the "WOAH" pedal.

Libby's still got decent brakes, so haven't replaced em yet.

O'Reilly crate engine 3.7 sure is a sweet running little hummer though. And $2,800. was a better price than any other I found

Thanks for the input guys. I still have a week till I actually go through with a purchase.

Quiet and dependability are of course what matters most. I had metallic pads and OEM rotors before. People would yell at me telling me I need to change my brakes even though I had well over 95% left on the pads.

Not a huge fan of the metallic but if you need that stopping power who really cares. I've always drove fast lightweight vehicles. So of course naturally the slotted rotors stood out to me. But you are right I will get what I pay for. I'll probably look into the Bosch for the lifetime warranty. Everyone loves a lifetime warranty.

Keep the input coming. If you happen to find any deals or know of sites with great deals, please feel free to share.

Thanks,

Zach

i would just drag a long stick on the ground. if you press hard enough itll stop you. nail it to the door so as to get a lever point and itll be like drum vs disc. the nail helps if you get the right point of contact.

I usually go with Raybestos ceramic pads and whatever economy rotors are on sale. The drilled and slotted stuff will just wear our faster, the cheaper stuff is stronger IMO. Rockauto usually has the best prices.

If you plan on going through mud and wet sand avoid drilled and slotted rotors
X2.

Using napa ultra premium rotors and adaptive one pads. Work awesome for me but can't tell you longevity. Don't really care as long as I'm not swapping them more than once every two years.

I've had good luck with Wagner Thermos and Raybestos Blues in combination with cheap rotors. I really like a pad that doesn't dust very much cuz I'm kind of a vehicle clean freak. Check for rebates and the Advance Auto 50 off 100 code. I just did all 4 wheels on my 11 Ford Edge with Thermos and new AA rotors for $140.00.

I had gotten mine from "Brakemotive"...I ran them on my wife's G6, my KJ, and now my Camaro. I've been very pleased with them, and they are ridiculously cheap.

They do have slotted/drilled, but often if you check they'll have blanks. They also coat them so they don't rust as quickly.

Seller is on ebay and i believe has a standalone website storefront as well.

Just an FYI Bosch zinc plates their rotors as far as I know. Help keep that nasty cancer off of 'em. My two cents though, the longer a company is willing to stand behind their product, the more apt I am to buy it. Love them lifetime warranties.
