a daystar 2.5 lift.. is a great economic lift.. if you have a renegade they are one inch higher then other's.. so you get 3.5... that's what I have.. you get it installed out the door for 500.00 or less.. it calls for 265\75\16 tires, I put 255\70\16 on mine.. with 16x8 rim for little off set.. very pleased with this lift.. you retain all you stock suspension so your ride doesn't change..i did have them replace the front and rear coils-shocks on mine at same time to save on labor since they was in there anyways....that got me higher too, since they was old and tired ..you will see on here that some people has this lift and ask why is some higher then other.... remember , new stock suspension and renegade will get you higher..

not to be rude.

Not to be rude but renegades are not an inch higher than other liberties stock and they don't come stock with an LSD either. I saw you mention that in another post a few days ago. Carry on.

Sent from my HTC One using the power of Mary's purse[/QUOTE well....if you call dodge for 2003 renegade liberty, there is 8 different part #s for the front suspension.. which varies by your vin # if you have a fully loaded renegade like me, then you would have the '' off road package'' which most have, but not all. about 1.5 inch taller suspension and a factory trac-loc in the rear with 4:10 gears...which you say don't come factory. they also have skid plates, tow hooks etc.......not to be rude.. but just to keep facts on this page..

Ok for it to come "stock" then that would mean that every renegade has is. These are called "options" meaning the buyer can choose whether they want them. You are 100% wrong about the suspension and the "off road package" only consists of skid plates and rock sliders. And they only put the 4:10 gears in the 2.4 liter models.

Did you buy this vehicle new? Did you know that the build data by vin is notorious for errors? Have you actually pulled the diff cover and checked the gear ratios? Only models I have ever heard of that came factory with 4.10 gears were the four cylinder models. Also, all of the Renegades I have seen all have sat the same or lower than mine did, pre-lift. Just as an FYI, just because you saw eight different part numbers for front end parts, that does not mean they have a super special lifted spring setup. As someone who deals with car parts a lot, what you have found is meaningless, not to steal your thunder. If tjkj stops by, he could tell you a lot more about what you found.

As mentioned above renegades are not higher when new, same height as all the rest
Daystar does not call for 265-75-16s
8 inch wheels give you more issues with rubbing generally
Did you replace the shocks as well ?If not then new springs were a waste, plus you needed longer ones in the rear
If you installed new springs plus the cost of the daystar kit, you have as much almost as a good Ironman or OME full spring kit
Just saying.........:icon_rolleyes:
your rite the daystar doesn't call for that size, it's the size I have. woops.. when the most retable company in swfl did my lift , that's been in business for 30 yrs , we order the day star, I knew that suspension was tired, so got new front and rear coils, struts, and longer rear shocks. when he pulled my vin# it called for 1.5 inch longer then stock ...he's lifted around 30 libertys ,some have this package some don't. but mine and others out there has this and that is a fact.:grd:

Any KJ built before April 12th 2002 are "pre-lowered",meaning they sat 3/4" higher then KJ's built after April 12th 2002.The higher coils where purged from the supply system so if you bought OE coils regardless of VIN you got the shorter coils. The only way to get "taller" coils is to buy aftermarket lift coils or have custom coils made.Even the OEM CRD coils, which will give a gasser lift on it own,are the shorter coils but the spring rate is far higher then the gassers(300-310lbs for the 3.7 V6 compared to 410lbs for the CRD).There was zero OEM coils that were 1.5" taller then then others installed on KJ's,that is fact.

The daystar spacer lift "pre-loads" the coils some making for a worse ride then stock, more so if using the worn out shocks and coils.

Now for the gears...............

3.55 gears---any KJ built with the 6 speed manual trans only

3.73 gears---All 3.7 V6 KJ's with auto trans(42RLE and 45RFE) and any 5 speed manual 3.7 V6 KJ's.Also all auto trans CRD's(545RFE).

4.10 gears---Any 2.4 gasser KJ(built till '05) and any export 2.5 CRD.

No option to have a different gear ratio added, you got what is listed above from the factory. If you truly have 4.10's someone installed them in place of the 3.73's.

Now see this is how so much misinformation gets spread around and some people actually believe it. This is the second time in the last 9.5 years that I have heard someone talk about an " off road package" which is complete BS.
I live in the Toledo area where they are built, know some of the guys who actually built these, have been through the plant.
None where ever built that were taller than other models ( except early 02s) or came with the extras described above.
The list TJKJ posted is correct as far as gearing,
I'm sure between TJKJ and I we've done way over double the amount of lifts your guy down there has done. I know I've been involved in more than 30 myself, every year, every model etc from 02-07s.

Arguing with stupid people is like playing chess with a pigeon.

No matter how good you are at chess. The pigeon will knock over the pieces, shit on the board, and strut around like it won.

Just because they have been in business for 30 years, doesn't mean they know anything about KJs/KKs. They may know TJs, JKs, WJs, and ZJs inside out, but I doubt they have much experience with the KJ. Heck 30 years, they may not know much about any jeeps. I've seen guys in my field twice as long as me, and are totally clueless about what goes on under the hood of a modern vehicle(elves are slapping hamsters, that's how it all works). Heck, I remember a Ford dealer tech, yes, a dealer tech, try and tell me how the 4.6L ford SOHC engine is actually the 289ci V8 they ran in the '60s. They brought it back because it magically makes so much more power than a 302. He probably believes his g/f has mouth trolls too, but that's another story.

That fact that you have a daystar kit on your Jeep and admit to it already proves you have no clue what you are talking about or doing. At this point you are just making entertainment for the rest of us. Thanks for the laugh.

Sorry there was no option of 4.10's gears in any KJ unless you opted for the 2.4 gas engine(or 2.5 export CRD outside of North America) and those came standard in those KJ's.Sorry if you have the 3.7 you have 3.73's(unless 6 speed manual then 3.55's).

There also was no option for taller coils from the factory, again regardless of VIN if you bought new OEM coils after April 12th 2002 they are actually shorter coils.

The Renegade model KJ is just a appearance package that included badges,160amp alternator, roof mounted light bar,and fake riveted style flairs(some years the light bar is a option and could include a roof basket, again depending on year). The offroad package only included HD cooling, skid plates, tow hooks, and the trash loc in the rear,no gear ratio option at all or taller coils.

What does yours measure from middle of the wheel to bottom of the flare?
Sorry you could not order one with 4.10s unless it was a 4 cylinder , no way
no off road package as you describe it with taller coils, doesn't exist, never did
Show the proof you have

Now for telling people to F- off , we don't tolerate things like that, first warning

We may get into lively discussions on here at times, but there is never a cause to call names/ tell someone to F off

When I'm wrong I like to be put straight in a respectable manner just like gator and everyone else in the world. No one is right 100% of the time and things often get misunderstood. I don't see any need for this..

By that point it was way past "he is just wrong and misunderstood what he has" at that point he had been told multiple times by several of the forums elite members and moderators and still was arguing he was right. Not to mention this isn't the first thread like this of his. It's not like he said one post with wrong info and I just randomly jumped on him. That was 3 pages in to him calling everyone else a liar and that they had no clue what they was talking about and he was right.

At what point does something change from "uninformed" to argumentative ignorance? I think that point was crossed here a while back. So many people have tried helping the dude with giving him the right info.
