High Beams and Low Beams on together

Has anyone else noticed that when running you low beams if you pull the left lever back ,to switch to high beams, if you hold the lever to the back of your steering wheel or as far as it will go, your high beams come on along with your low beams. I realized that it is MUCH brighter than just your high beams and of course brighter than just your lows. So Since our kjs have head light bulbs with double filaments in them, when you do this it must be burning both filaments. I have been wondering if there was some way to make them run like that without having to hold the lever back.

If you want to burn the bulbs out real quick sure! Really it will not work would be too much heat and would burn the bulbs out real quick!

I figured that out back in '04 when I discovered the ability too. Luckily I only burned one side out.

If melting the headlight is ok, just duct tape the lever.....

The KJ uses a single bulb with 2 filaments for the headlights,to much heat will be built up if you light both filaments at the same time.Okay to do with a 4 bulb headlight setup(2 low beam and 2 high beam bulbs) but not ours.

Why not just install higher wattage bulbs.(along with a relay for both low and high beams)
Then you will have more light output without frying a bulb prematurely!
Not to mention cooking the multi function switch.
