Checking in: Bailed from Progressive since they were not a "we take care of our customers" kind of insurance house. Sought greener pastures and found them [i.e. better rates and better coverage from a local place that even responds to voice mails]

Good Luck with your Liberty.

Wait a sec... They are saying they won't pay over $6k period then is that what your suggesting there???

Esurance ***** dude, sorry, but i have heard nothing but bad things about them. Get a real insurance company thats local and worries about their customers... (PS: Stay far away from Progressive, i can tell you horror stories about how they treated customers around here and a good friend of mine is a rep/claims adjuster for them and despite hating them its a paycheck, funny thing is he doesn't have Progressive insurance himself and it pissed off his boss)

No, if it's over 6k then the insurance company will send out one of their own claim adjusters, because then the value of the car comes into play- whether or not it's totalled

You need to switch to USAA,better rates and way better company to work with.I have yet to switch but still getting super service from my company so far(American Family),but it helps having a good friend as my agent.

I have USAA as a bank- I didnt know they did Auto Insurance as well.
Isn't it a military only bank? hopefully their rates will be much lower

It's a Military only organization (including retired personnel) but they do everything. Bank, insurance, mortgages, financial/retirement planning, the whole nine yards. I started with them when I was in the USAF and am now looking into getting both auto and home insurance through them.

BTW - Enjoy Lackland. I was only there for basic but San Antonio is a nice city. A hell of a lot nicer than Sheppard AFB.

I agree 100% about Progressive. My son was driving my pickup a few years back, when someone ran a stop sign and clipped him. The other driver (who had Progressive), was ticketed for running the stop sign. Despite that, Progressive would not pay the claim because they felt that my son was at fault. I had to go through my personal insurance company and suck up the $500 deductible. It eventually (a year later) went to subrogation and I finally got my deductible back. Long story short, I would never even consider Progressive. Sorry for the rant.

Same thing here... When the progressive insured driver hit my wife's care in the parking lot they tried to claim it was my wife's responsibility.. WTF? After about six months of arbitration between State Farm and Progressive and even threats of a lawsuit they paid up to State Farm and i got paid my deductible also... Progressive is a bunch of crooks...

That's about the only thing I like about No-Fault insurance laws. It MAY be expensive, but in normal states but I don't have to worry about whether the other idiot who hit me has insurance or not.

I'm tempted to get one of those bumpers myself. I was driving along one day and hit a speed bump(which in kj terms is fun) and it made a mud-flap scrapy noise. I got out and looked and sure enough some moron in a parking lot had backed my front bumper so hard it had a crack from one of the tow hooks. All of the plastic fasteners were cracked off and it was hanging by the top edge.
Then when I went to fix the fasteners, it actually bowed the metal cross-core in. That was a serious parking lot hit!
Does anyone know off hand where I can get an affordable cross member or if it is easily replaced?

I rear ended someone in October And bent the cross beam thing really bad. On my post about the accident someone said that it's a dealer only part with 50 point welds.... If you can find one pm me please. I can't put my brushguard back on until it's fixed

Start by hunting salvage yards,if you know a body shop they might come closer to getting one.

The worst in my opinion, plus that is what under insured/no insurance option is for.

Yeah no-fault sounds like a crock to me...

I have coverage for under insured / non-insured on my policy, only cost me $5 a month more for enough coverage to replace the KJ twice over in that case.

Yep it just increases your rates for others stupidity. My KJ is appraised and that is what the payout is if it get's totaled and not "fair market value" like normal insurance pay's,yes I do pay extra for it but well worth it.
