Winch Question

dont laugh but do you need a brush guard or bull bars to mount a winch or can you just mount it to the bumper

You will need a winch bumber or a front reciever hitch(do not recommend this route).Detours makes what they call a "BackBone" system for the KJ,it retain the stock bumber and intergrates a winch mount and shackle mounts that poke out of the bumber.
