We bought our 04 KJ this weekend and I'm pretty sure it has wheel bearing issues. It has 114,000km on it and winter tyres at the moment so I'm not sure if that resonant wowwowwowwow on the highway is the tyres or bearings.

The noise appears from about 40kph.

What do you guys reckon?

Check the rear boot on the front driveshaft as well, it will cause a noise like that at times or a vibration.
Does it change as you turn from one side to the other ?
Could also be the Intermediate shaft in the front diff, it also gives you a sound like that or what I am understanding it may sound like

Thanks Tom

It only happens at speeds where turning wouldn't be wise, so I'm not sure. I suppose you are thinking about the wheel loading reducing on turning?

I'll check the boots. I need to crawl under there anyway because something is creaking on steering input!
