Out of curiosity, what are the dual NOCO plug ports for?
The one on the left splits to a block heater and oil pan heater (northern canada) and the right one goes to a battery tender. Also have two solar panels for parking in remote areas and keeping topped off during cb radio usage

Today I picked up some wrangler rockers and have and idea, what do you think? Seen guys using box tubing, and the one you tube guy that used and old weight machine tubes which came out nice, but these Wrangler Rocker's can be picked up cheap via FBMP or CL, since I am not use to cutting and welding I picked these up off FBMP cheaper than I could got steel box tubing to make rockers and there just as strong. See my idea images 1 and 2, on the thoughts to cut them down, weld them as the are normally mounted or flip them. Is this good idea bad idea, let me know which view you prefer and why. If someone has done this please comment and provide some pix on how you did it. My concerns are the steel thickness difference and the weld stressing. I could cut right where rocker folds downward as mine are rotted I have no back area and pinch weld seem is gone, but once all the outer and inner is cut out the floor is strong, really odd they made them like a catch all to rot especially on my 07 with covers they had more holes. Let me know your thoughts on this. Also if someone says JeepYeah and goes and grabs some and does this, let me know. On the fence with this idea or using some of the pre-made slip on and boxing the backs in, I would have to make up the back piece or have someone use a brake and bend it etc.

Ok, thoughts?

Thanks, LFX1

I have 2 sets of these that were given to me. I haven't looked at them a lot being busy with other things. I think I'll likely cut them to length and bolt them through the pinch weld with the studs they have, then run some extra support to the box section of the Jeep. Keep us posted on your progress.

On the topic of rockers and sliders, the rocker on my jeep are gone. Somehow, the plastic cladding is still hanging on. But, I’ve decided that IF I do any repairs, I’ll use either 2x4 or 2x6 tube steel in place of rockers.

Yeah that is what my plan was but cost at least around here in Ohio has been expensive so i was looking alternate routes. Seen it don on US Cherokee models and just seen video post in past 5 months of modified liberty for rock crawling used 2 x6 looked good , the guy that uses an old scrap steel from a weight machine has good in depth video of how he cut everything out surprising how much you can remove up to the door lip. Mine are like yours hidden behind covers. One back one fell off on drivers side. that side takes the blunt of bad weather since its the inside lane facing in the states. I have noticed like mine many rot on that upward arch when you open door luckly they make that as a patch panel. Also there is a guy online who will cut and angle the ends all welded nice to length but his price is steep.

Smart. I don't need the heaters, but I've been thinking about wiring up the NOCO plugs for solar and similar uses. Having multiple vehicles, battery tenders are a must.

You're over thinking this. Buy a cheap welder, learn a skill, build what you need. Being able to weld is like a license to print money.

I'm going to need a translation. I'm not reading a stream of run-on consciousness...

The plug is mostly for car port, I have two of these https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0B153GTNV

one wired to a bus bar in the passenger wheel well and one in the driver side rear window going to the rear 12v plug, both are always wired in and handle there own voltage and trickle charging stuff

Nice, every time I work on my cars, it reminds me how talented my bro was that past away last year. He was an artist and a wizard when it came to this stuff, I can do mechanical but have no bone in my body that lets me mold metal or weld or paint it. Those look good. I sold my little car that was a partial project yesterday to focus on my Jeep and my Avy, both in some state of work being done with my bro as we were wrenching every weekend our schedules met up. I got the family discount, still kicked him some cash, but now to get stuff done that looks good I have to come out of pocket. I got better doors and 2 were done, other 2 are work in progress. My rockers I will have to figure out, or $$ to someone for those , problem I have is my bottom lip is gone at the pinch weld. Mine is and 07 with covers, so I was thinking going full steel like the other ones so it doesn't look fine one day then next my cover fall off seeing the rot. I was thinking of cutting it up to the edge and using some steel box, or some sort pipe or tube, or possibly modify a set of those rock guards they use on the 4 door wranglers, they are long enough they bolt on with an odd angle so if I cut mounts off and tack brackets on they may work but would be really heavy to tack to body, that was one thing my bro always said make sure the metal is similar gauge, as one time I got some sheet metal that to was heavy and hard to mold and weld to the flooring of the bug, but he made it work, guy had skills that are missed by many. He mainly used a small welder, and did wonders with it, I got a cheap one he was going to show me, and life changed. I'll figure it out.

Great work there man those look good.
Yup-I lost my go-to family fabricator as well. If only we could have downloaded what they knew. (I should be careful what I wish for)

Yeah I bought a welder, he was going to show me the ropes, but he past quick, one day we are putting pan gasket on my Avy, then working jeep doors, week later it seemed his doc thought he had pneumonia after rounds of meds, he went into hospital on Monday and past on a Saturday from an aggressive small cell aggressive cancer. Life is so fleeting it puts things in perspective, my brother always said you have to live your life and not waste time planning it, anniversary is coming up Oct5th, so its hectic time for the family. Parents are in their 80s, so every minute I get with them isn't enough.

I haven't removed the plastic yet, but everything seems solid. I'll definitely share here when I get started.
