What did you do to your jeep today?

Just got it back from the local exhaust shop - we needed assistance with the Y-pipe seals... it wasn't something we could do in the driveway. Eugene is much quieter now... and sounds a lot less like a tractor than before.

I think so...

I didn't drive it for work today (due to it being loud), but I will have a full day in it tomorrow and probably Friday. It did seem to be a little better on my way to the exhaust place and back this afternoon.

I don't know how long the relearn process should take... I've never had to go through one before. :icon_confused:

An update: I drove for the better part of 6 hours today, and apparently you can teach an old dog new tricks. The ****** relearn has vastly improved - I would say approx. 85% of the time, it shifts as it should... not flawless yet, but much better than the last couple of days. I have another full day of driving for work tomorrow, so I'm hoping that will work the rest of the bugs out.

Within like a day of getting my ****** flushed and flashed by the dealer, it had a trailer hooked up to it and towed it from FL to WI. So mine relearned with a trailer attached...

Pfft... 2 hours after I bought mine I was towing my car home with it.
You should have seen the looks on the shop employee's faces as I installed the hitch in their parking lot, hooked up the tow dolly and put my car on it.

Not today, but last week on the way back from Virginia I shot a few pics of the roof rack with stuff on it. First time I've had a chance to use it!

drove 120 miles to pick up a second hand auto box for my kj and 120 miles home, dealer assured me it was the correct one, it was from a 2002 kj and mine is a 2004 kj, but it was differant when i checked when i got home, my box from bell housing to the end of transfer box is 950mm the 02 box is 1000mm, ths bottom pn is differant size, and the cooler pipes are on the other side of the box, so now i have got to drive back there tomorrow morning to change it.

Drove mine about 300 miles this week. More than I have since changing the HGs a while back. Refilled the tank and calculated just over 18mpg. Haven't gotten that kind of mileage in a few years. Maybe new O2 sensors helped too. Now if I could just figure out the sporadic ABS light.

After listening to the passenger side wheel bearing groan at me for the past few thousand miles I figured it was time to change it.

Since Timken is headquartered here in the county i live in I had to buy a Timken hub. Besides, they're the best made:

Before removing the brake caliper and hanging it from the upper A-arm, time to take off the CV axle nut. For those wondering how to take it off with the wheel removed here's how to place a crowbar or long screwdriver on the lugs:

Used a high quality external Torx socket (E-14) from Wright Tools to remove the bolts, then a couple of whacks with the BFH and a slide hammer and the old one was off:

Installed the new one, tightened the three bolts to 100 ft/lbs and replaced everything.

No more groaning at 35mph+ and just an hour of my time. Now time to paint the suspension :waytogo:
