That reminds me, all I need is a rear. Also ideas on any sites? I know LKQ, anything comparable?
I have considered that route Tom, might just do that. Or possibly DuraCoat.
Powder coating held up pretty well on the KJ hooks over the years. Granted they didn't get a whole lot of use, but they did come in handy from time to time.
And I have a coworker that is all set up to powder coat in his garage.
Got home today to see a clear plastic bag sitting on the front porch.
Go out to check see what it is, part of a USPS shipping box and 4 hockey pucks !
No name even just 99% of my address , so Jason J , well sorry I tried sending you some a LONG time ago
I wonder if I can get my money back LOL
I picked up a kayak for my girlfriend. I'll be building a twin kayak carrier tomorrow so we can take both hers and mine out for a day.
Best be on the alert for bears.
Been multiple sightings down here recently of black bears
I wanted to see what happened when he got closer and then ran out of that stupid spray... That's why God created rifles.
As annoying as her voice was, I was rooting for the daggone bear.
The bushes started moving ahead of me, while I was hiking 2 days ago.
I scared the crap out of him, as I carry a really loud air horn and gave em a huge Blast !
Wow did it take off !!
Looks like that bumper held up pretty well eh?
Do you carry bear bells on your packs?
2 Bells on my pack and bear crackers ++...
Today was a Jeep Day...
I am starting to discover some amazing, secret, forestry Service roads!
Trust me, this is seriously Bear Country !
No cell Coverage withing 50 miles here. It would be nice to have a Satellite phone!
Not done today, but during the last months:
Step 1: install new springs, shocks and JBA UCAs
Step 2: remove the rusted-up slider
Step 3: ran into another black '04 CRD with the exact same lift and JBA UCAs (as far as I know these are the only 2 in Hungary!) - The other KJ is a tiny bit taller, as he's sitting on 255/70/16
Shotgun, bear spray.
Don't feed the bears!
Put my Australian Spec Brake Lights in, only difference was the turn signal socket, I had to modify the Australian socket to fit into the wiring harness. Now both inner and outer lights are matching E spec.
Put the 'new' engine in
Ordered a new Mopar coolant tank off eBay to solve my coolant leak. As an eBay seller, I hate their return policies, but after dealing with Parts Geek, as a buyer I have no reason to not use them. Only bad part it will come in Monday at work, so it'll be a week till I can install it, which should make it easier to install.
not the jeep...
finally got around to applying the K-SEAL stuff to the coolant in the Stratus correctly today, for a "blown" head gasket on the #2 cylinder.
did a pair of 30 minute warm up and cool down cycles. coolant is now no longer being pushed out of the overflow tank, and in fact is rising and falling at expected rates as the system heats up and cools down when the fans kick on. also the temp gauge is sitting rock solid at 1.5 ticks below half (which is the normal spot for this car and particular temp sensor.)
going to take it for a short drive loop tonight and see what happens. hoping to do a drive every day for the next week, getting to longer ones each time to verify the fix is in and holding.
car has 172k miles on it, and wife is already driving the "replacement", but i'd like to get her back in this thing so as to keep packing commuting miles on it.
Sprayed down with Deep Creep the U-Joints for a better inspection. Looking good, driveshaft tight.
Even rubber boot still looks good. Took it over some speed bumps, no clunks or surprises.
Hwy test at 75mph no vibes, it is a good day.
