If you're going to toss that fake ones , I know where you can throw them,.....hint hint
I'm going to hold on to them. When I'm ready to let them go they're all yours. Going to work on making a set of my own flares with my new found backyard welding skills lol. Figure it's a good place to start with fabricating since if they break its not critical.

We're supposed to get some, too. But our Cub Cadet is set up as the plow.

Thanks - I had been waiting for snow all week and it finally came in. Roads not plowed ? No problem. It was a blast and I think being lifted helped too

Today they were mostly ice and mud

Intalled 3rd right side cv axle in roughly 2 months, hopefully this one holds up. Also replaced wheel bearing which seems to have cured abs light as I had hoped. I'm getting good at replacing that axle, not that it's to hard anyway.

Update on bolted on flares. I used flange bolts for the back 4 bolts. I used a speed nut on the front bolt. Otherwise you would need to remove the headlight to get to it.

Updated Parts List
8x M8x1.25 40mm Flange head (Lowes)
2x M8x1.25 30mm Flange head (Lowes)
8x M8x1.25 Flange nut (Lowes)
2x M8x1.25 Speednut (from advance auto parts)
5/16 Drill bit
Blue Loctite

Very easy to do. They feel more secure than they ever did with the plastic rivets/clips.

My 140k mile 02KJ Limited just had its very first change of spark plugs!

When I pulled them out it was obvious they were the originals.
I replaced them with these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0737GV1XG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Made sure to use some Anti-seize lubricant on them:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002UEOLO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Though I noticed coil E | Cylinder 5's coil pack and spark plug had some oil on it.
All the rest were squeaky clean. Now I have to research what is going on with it. :/

Tomorrow or next weekend I will do my belt tensioner:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A161T3A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and serpentine belt:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C2WKHC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Then after that I will have to get under the chassis to find and rivet down a ratling heat shield. :)

I also recently upgraded all my indoor and out door lights to LED's, upgraded the battery tray to fit my new Odyssey 1750D battery: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00249GW9S/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Then I replaced all the stock speakers and head unit and installed a dash cam :)

SHOULD ONLY USE NGK COPPER PLUGS

Hate to be the one to say it but going the wrong way on some things, need to rethink what you are replacing and do it right

I did the same thing when I changed the plugs in my 02 many years ago. I wasn't aware of this forum or the plug preferences for the KJ. The originals had about 90k on them and I used the same fancy Bosch. Ran better than the completely worn out stock ones for 40-50k no codes or anything. BUT THEN I swapped the fancy ones with the OE NGKs and there was a complete difference. Idle was so much smoother and it felt like it ran better with the cheap NGK coppers.

That really interesting to hear actually. Any background as to why the OE NGKs are such a preference?

Sounds like a classic wheel bearing issue diagnosis. Just because the noise is more prominent when turning left doesn't mean it's automatically the left bearing though. Get somebody else to drive while you sit on right and see if it sounds different. Of course the conventional wisdom is to replace both of them.

I don't mind the heads up on anything I may be doing wrong. I am very new to maintaining my own high mileage vehicle, that's why I am here :)
To share and learn.

After seeing your comment about the spark plugs I did a bunch more searching around the forums and have found that there is a TON of discussion over spark plugs, brands, materials, etc.

I only got the Bosch 4+ because I wanted not to skimp and wanted to get the best available. But if an OEM NGK copper plug is actually whats best for this particular engine, then that's what I'll do :)

I am also strongly considering getting 6 new MOPAR Coil Packs and replacing them since they seemed a bit worn as one would expect.

Looking for the NGK plugs I am coming across a ton of different model numbers all with a copper core. Is there a certain one that works best? I know there is a lot of discussion over platinum, double plat, iridium, etc.

Also you mentioned "some things" meaning more than one. Anything else I should reconsider on?

Thanks again! :)
