What could this noise be?

My 07 makes a noise from 45mph to 50mph. It only does it while accelerating normally through that speed. The noise sounds like mud tires on pavement. No vibrating at all. I dont know what it could be. Only have 41,000mi on it.

I have the exact same issue, I have had it into the dealership a few times. I have 31" tires and they were out of balance by about 1/4 ouch or so. This is a good balance for larger tires. They re-balanced and the noise is still there. Nothing else was wrong with the vehicle. all vehicles have some form of drive line vibration. If it's not too loud I would live with it. My 07 is currently at 65,000 mi

I am still on stock size tires, I tried rotating the tires that didnt change the noise. Maybe I should get them balanced.

Look at the DS where it meets transfer case,if the rubber boot is ripped,or grease is visible or you can get slack in the rotation of it,by hand, that is it. Could still be bad and show none of this.

No rips or visible grease. I checked front driveshaft no more play in it than in my wifes 02. Same with the rest of the driveline.

Be honest with you, mine makes a sound at 45 - 50 mph too. I just figure it is the Transmission trying to figure out what gear it wants to be in. Could that be the same as you? Or is it a different sound than shifting weird? I'm prolly off base with what your talking about though.

Wow, I have this same issue as well, but it is from 40-45 mph. I figured it had to do with my tires since I am overdue for a rotation. Now I'm kinda worried.

My '03 had the same noise only at about 35mph; front prop shaft looked good and tight, no rip in boot either.

On a hunch i located a replacement CV joint (transffer case end), and replaced..VIOLA Noise gone.

By the way for those that don't know both the front and rear prop shaft CV joints are available now, and pretty cheap, so you no longer have to buy the whole driveshaft from MoPar.
