They wanted the credit card info as a verification of identity when doing it with them through email if your name is not the name they have in their records, the person who bought it new before me in this case.
They weren't going to charge me anything, just use the CC info to check identity.
April 12th 2002 is that date.OK, disc brakes was a 2003+ thing. No '02 has disc brakes in the rear.
42RLE changeover happened gradually, but full blown 42RLE production was definitely May of 2003.
If you have a really, really early '03, you're almost guaranteed to have the 45RFE.
Pre-Lowered vs. Lowered, happened some time in April '02. No one knows exactly which date but it does NOT correlate with the change of the 4x4 badging locations. But what we do know is that ALL lowered KJs have the 4x4 badging on the rear, but SOME pre-lowered KJs DO ALSO have 4x4 badging on the rear, and not on the sides.
What else.... Trail Rated badges started with 2004s in I believe October of '03. 2005 MY KJs got the new and improved, real metal Trail Rated badge.
Yep, that's what i learned, but i got the build sheet now so i know for sure which filter/gasket kit i need to go buy.
Also, mine has all wheel disc brakes as well...
