sway bar end links

just wondering how much play the sway bar end links are supposed to have in them. mine seem to have a little bit of wiggle room between the bolt/washer thing and the actual end link. are they supposed to be nice and snug? whats the best way to check if your in need of new ones? any info would be great.

You shouldn't be able to move them by hand.
